  1. I also match up with Ravel. I'm actually going to vote for the one who has the best detergent. They're going to need it to wash the shit stains out of the Constitution left by W and his gang.
  2. Just got done watching Season 2 episodes 3 & 4 of The IT Crowd.
  3. Ordered 414 pads. And I'm just having a blast with these cans. It's so easy to change pads that I almost don't care about the pad battles -- I just swap according to what the music seems best with. I just popped in Tapestry by Carole King and with flats it sounded rolled off in the highs, and muddy down low. Swap over to bowls and all is well. These things really have become my favorites in just a matter of days.
  4. You got clubbed like a guy who uses his first post to sell stuff that a little reading would have shown you is not highly regarded here. I'm sorry, when did we become responsible for you learning what this place is about?
  5. You know, rather than being offended by the community, maybe you should have spent an hour reading through the existing threads to see what kind of community this is. Then you would have seen it would not be to your liking and you wouldn't have wasted your time. And if you think this place is comparable to Iraq, maybe you should drive past an IED and then have a true A/B comparison...
  6. Many of you are not as ancient as I, and may only know this as it is tagged onto movie titles, but one of the greatest comedic influences of the last 40 years is soon to be available again: I read these while in High School, and they helped make me the sick degenerate (but funny) bastard that I am. If you want to see the fetid little pool that things like Animal House, Saturday Night Live and countless others spawned in, check it out. Or not. I will be.
  7. Excellent responses all around. Kontai, I really am loving these cans. And we can probably account for at least some of the difference in what we hear with different source, amp, tubes, cables, on and on... Not to mention the music you listen to vs. what I listen to. I of course can't find the 414 pads anywhere (damn messy room!) so I guess it's time to order.
  8. I've had minor comfort issues during multi-hour sessions with the bowls, but the sound has been so good it's been easy to overcome. Sometimes we must suffer for our music. And Earl, I have to thank you. Your praise of the MS2's in one of the last Meet threads was what made me zero in on this model. I don't regret it. The Zana seems to love them.
  9. I received my MS2i's on Saturday and got some flats today. I really like these cans. My first Grado's, I had shied away from them not for any specific reason but just because my interests were elsewhere. Boy, was that a mistake. I've listened to Grado's at meets, but at home in my own rig is the only way to go. Listening with the bowls for the last week, I was enjoying them, but they've tended to sound bright on a lot of things. But other things just clicked so well. The California Guitar Trio cd's were astounding with the bowls. So musically engaging it's hard to describe. Now, with the flats these things have become bass and midrange monsters. And I like that too. Wonderful rock & roll cans this way. I know I have a pair of HD414 pads around here somewhere, but can't find them. Quarter modded, do these land in the middle ground between flats and bowls? Does that middle ground exist? If it does let me know. I now know that I will buy more Grado's, but this first step has honestly been the most satisfying I can remember since I started throwing money into the headphone back hole. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long.
  10. Most excellent. Love the U.S. cover of Islands. A_Sr.
  11. And from another F1 fan, welcome! Religious holiday this weeked.... MONZA!! A_Sr.
  12. Dude, I've got two words for you: Not Funny.
  13. I think an exploratory committee to see who thinks Jim Carrey is funny, and then ban them, would be a better use of my time.
  14. I'm too bland to be banned.
  15. Can you two ban each other for too much Star Wars RPG fan boyism??
  16. Quite nicely. I'm still in the initial stages of listening, but there are levels of detail there that are not heard in my X-Ray. Similar to how I described your Capitole - everything coming together so that detail isn't a thing unto itself but a part of the complete performance. I still think your Capitole has the edge on the Opus (stock at least) but not a huge edge. I'm looking forward to those MS2i's at the end of the week. That should be fun in this rig.
  17. Well, of course. But the stuff I bought is for the Turkish coffee chaser afterwards....
  18. Snakes of the world unite to slap down this challenge to your supremacy!! Sorry.
  19. Only in silver.
  20. I've been using one of these to power a 220v X-Ray v3, and have not noticed any noise that might be a result of the converter: http://www.voltageconverters.com/itemdesc.asp?CartId={FDCB76EVERESTC9-1240-4E7B-8CDD-748A66551BC6}&ic=VC300W Reks heard the X-Ray at the Cinci meet - did sound noisy to you Reks?
  21. Another happy Zana owner! Excellent pics, and yes it is a honey of an amp. Look around for a National Union 6SL7GT. Your ears will thank you. A_Sr.
  22. Man I wish I could have been there. Looks like eargasm city!
  23. Which is worse? Exhibit A: Exhibit B: Lou's ambient music used to accompany his Tai Chi... Jesus, can't some people just stick with the drugs and be done with it???
