uh office for mac should work fine. table/graph compatibility has never been office's strong point.

If you have lion, http://osxdaily.com/2011/12/10/disable-or-enable-spotlight-in-mac-os-x-lion/ Personally I use Alfred as an alternative to spotlight.

I have one of these (http://goincase.com/...-sleeve-cl57736) which I like a lot but I think I would get http://sfbags.com/pr...avelexpress.php instead for the hard backing also yes, mba audio outputs are so much better compared to pc laptops. Kinda wish it had optical out too

Its not too difficult nowadays to get a completely silent computer if you stick with SSDs and a low power cpu. My i5 setup (pretty similar to grahame's) is overall pretty damn quiet but not silent.
