  1. Best wishes Earl!
  2. Totally my experience as well. I'll go as far as calling the Apogee mini-DAC a giant killer outright or close to it.
  3. HP has actually come back a li'l bit. I like Canons and Epsons a lot as well. Honestly, I really don't think you can go wrong with any of these leading brands. You should set your budget, look for the features and performance you want, read a bunch of reviews, and then go down to the store and run 'em through their paces. Cheap ink helps.
  4. Use AVG, Ad aware, and spybot. Already a lot of great suggestions in this thread.
  5. In any event, it's still cool!
  6. I think it's definitely cool stuff straight out of Star Trek, but frankly I'm skeptical. A touch-sensitive coffee table isn't a practical design to me. Assuming it is both a table and a computer, what happens when people treat it like a table -- i.e. if they put things on it (like six months worth of USA Todays, their muddy feet, or a steaming mug of cocoa) -- how does that affect the touch-sensitive controls? And who wants to watch a movie hunched over a 30" table? Not me. You also need to be particular about where you place this thing, because light reflections will certainly interefere with trying to view its highly reflective surface. I think I'll wait for Apple's next innovation (which Microsoft will innevitably try to copy anyway as usual.) As always, all of the above = IMO, YMMV, etc.
  7. COD: United Offensive was the best IMO. I liked the way the vehicles handled and the maps were great.
  8. They were working on a sequel for the DS, weren't they? In any event, yes, an Earthbound sequel needs to happen and would indeed be very huge. That's a classic!
  9. We all agree on the Secret of Mana lovin' in this thread, it seems, so out of justice I have to mention a game that I loved just as much if not arguably more: Secret of Evermore.
  10. Yeah, all of those were great games indeed.
  11. It definitely had some damned good games on it, but SNES was the almighty king of all and you know it.
  12. Good for you!
  13. Yup. That's how my dad went back in 03, although he was 62. I really just don't understand how anyone can take up smoking today with what we ALL know about it. The additional insult to injury is: Cigs are expensive, to boot!
  14. I still view the SNES time as the Golden Age for console gaming, as a whole. What a great system that was...and still is!
  15. Well said.
  16. Yeah, what was the final word on that? Was he an accomplice or just a witness or what?
  17. One idiot vouching for another idiot.
  18. That trailer is pretty hardcore. At first I rolled my eyes and laughed at the idea that this movie was being made, but here's where it could be good: If it's handled in the same manner like Rocky Balboa was, where you get back to the basics and heart of what made the series what it was, dump the over the top comic book hero elements, and the main character is fairly realisitic for his age...this might be halfway decent. I hadn't seen First Blood in many years until I bought the Blu-Ray version last month and while it's a little dated in some parts...that's a damned good movie. If this new Rambo film gets back to something more along those lines I think they can pull it off.
  19. I am going to have to study that finale frame by frame, especially the "flash forwards." This was the best season of the show by far, all told, despite the slow start (IMO) with the prison and tortue scenes. Once the gang escaped it was off to the races. It's really a shame that the producers have opted for this unwise miniseason approach spread over three years. We have to wait nearly 10 months for the next season, which will be only 16 episodes. Unfortunately for them, their ratings went down this year and never fully recovered. Moving to 10pm also didn't do them any favors. No matter how awesome your show may be...people can and will move on to different things during a 10 month lull. I also think they'd be better off simply having two more full sized seasons of 24 episodes each vs. three 16 episode mini seasons. That's still the same 48 episodes to get the job done.
  20. Exactly. He'll get a slap on the wrist where any of the rest of us would be rotting in jail. He'll be on the field this year as if nothing ever happened, guaranteed.
  21. ^^ I'm sure the cliffhanger they leave us with at the end of this season will be one for the records books.
  22. No way. He'll be just fine. Think about who he is and where he's at. Too important and critical of a character to lose.
  23. While you're going along, try to give an Apogee Mini-DAC a test whirl at some point. I'm really pleased with mine thus far.
