I used graph paper and made scale cut outs of the tools and cabinets to see how they would fit. I'm not sure what you mean by wanting ideas for cabinets so you might need to give more information like what kind of work you're going to do in the shop and what you need to store, etc. Upper cabinets for my shop were from a kitchen I helped remodel and then we built the base cabinets.

I thought about doing that as well.  Mostly just assembling amps and such so soldering, drilling.  No wood working or welding.  I might add a 3D printer.

I saw some unfinished base cabinets at the homedepot.  I might go that route if I can't find anything local or on craigslist.

  2. So I'm turning one of my garage bays into a workshop.  I'm able to fit 8' x 10' with a 9' 6" ceiling no problem.  I need some ideas on counter surfaces and cabinets.  I'd need some storage, an area for a desktop and 4-6 amps, 2 dacs, and a preamp.  Lastly an area to work on projects.

Is there an online layout tool that doesn't have a huge learning curve or anyone on here that can do a layout?  I'd gladly throw a few bucks their way for some time.

@sbelyo , do you think about possible substitution?

I've found interesting transistor: TTC5460B. It is available at chip1stop.

It has much lower max current but also lower Cob. I think you could check if it is suitable for you.

I haven't yet no.  I did source what I need in a trade just now so for the immediate future I'm ok

  4. Hi All...

Anyone up for a group buy of IXCP10M90S ?  This place below seems to have 146 of them and is in Florida.  I know I need them for a bunch of projects and could wait but I'm thinking this might be good for everyone.  Has anyone ordered from this place before?

I'll run it like my others in the past.  I'd say 7-10 people is all we need.  I'm in for 30

Hi Sbelyo. I have a Bottlehead S.E.X. with switches for output impedance. My HE-560 and HE-6SE V2 sound best off it at the 4 ohm output impedance setting. It's rated at 2 watts per channel. At higher impedance settings they sound muffled. Your other 2 cans may sound great out of your pair of transformers.

I have that very amp and use the same settings as well.  I definitely don't want to let these go to waste

For the same phone, the lower the secondary winding impedance tap you connect to, the lower the output and the lower the distortion (assuming class A SE output stage). The max power transfer happens when you have a matched impedance. It’s not recommended to connect to a tap that has higher impedance than the load.

I did some research and talked to some people that have built this amp for headphones.  The 32 ohm and 120 ohm are the taps I'm going to use.  From all accounts I should be good with that.
