  1. I still use Flickr, but have been making noises (if not taking action) about switching to SmugMug for ages.
  2. APOD: 2010 April 19 - Ash and Lightning Above an Icelandic Volcano
  3. Cool. I did not know the source. Not shooped, AFAIK.
  4. Re: B&W Conversions. Shot with my 30D and a borrowed 85L @ F/2.2, 1/125th, ISO1000. Converted to B&W and tweaked in PS using, ahem, a plugin or two. In retrospect, I wish I'd dropped the ISO to 640 and opened the aperture a bit. I didn't have use of the 85L nearly long enough to get to know it. I've got quite a long and convoluted story about the subject, but that's not something I'd discuss here. Maybe in the Casino. Maybe.
  5. While I'm glad there's another FLAC player for OSX (seeing as how Play is a buggy POS, and abandonware to boot) but I am not sure about Clementine. It uses QT (not QuickTime), which is a sucktastic cross-platform GUI that IMJO looks its worst on OSX.
  6. Is Reykjav
  7. (That'll make my bank robbery spree easier.)
  8. Strangers With Candy on the Comedy Central website. All three seasons are now online.
  9. This is the only commercially made model I know of. There is at least one company that will modify a modern speedlite for IR usage, but that is really expensive ($400_ flash & cost of the mods) and the output power is greatly reduced. The Sunpak Nocto is based on a "hammerhead" flash meant for large format film cameras, so it's output is much more powerful. Probably a "normal" (visible light) hammerhead. It would definitely be of use as a fill flash. I am just now beginning to experiment as a strobist as I study product photography. I'll shoot you a PM when I'm not DJing* *I use the same machine for editing photos, DJing and wasting time on the intertubes. This is what "future shock" feels like.
