  1. The Anax 2.0 is a huge improvement compared to Anax 1.0/Tyll's. Much more coherent in the bass. Flatter. Also the ringing in the 5kHz-region is completely gone. No more harshness. Highly recommend it.
  2. Tran! How much is the aproximative cost for T2-case and misc. hardware (you provide) for it?
  3. Hi guys! Need some advice on 2 caps for the DynaHi-boards... 1st] WIMA (most likely) film caps 0,47 uF. 1 per board. What voltage rating and tolerance? 2nd] 0.1 uF film cap2 per board. What voltage rating and tolerance? And a secong thing... The bridge 512-KBL02 is obsolete. Any tips on a replacement? --- Why can't I mount them like that with a 3U-case? I've seen several other builds like that? Please explain as I'm a novice. Regarding the KG Attenuator, some resurrected interest in making new boards might have appeared. Check the thread and show interest if interested... --- I'm thinking of doing a 5U Dynahi/DynaPSU-build with the boards stacked on each other with 80-90 mm screws between the boards like this:
  4. Any tips on a replacement bridge instead of http://se.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Fairchild-Semiconductor/KBL02/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtQ8nqTKtFS%2fLDhWhDI65nsFSJ6lLatRB8%3d for the DynaPSU?
  5. Anyone has any spares? To use with Balanced Dynahi-build. Both populated (even used) and unpopulated boards are fine! Thx! V
  6. Ok... KG's digital attenuator sounds interesting... Tell me more As in remote control compatible? Because I plan to use the Dynahi as a high-efficiency speaker amp too (for bookshelf speakers). /V
  7. Not much left on the boards... Waiting for some SAND from bdent... Somehow missed to order: Electrolytics 3 big and 3 small on the DynaPSU x 2 470 uF/35V on the DynaHi. I installed 470 uF/63V which I had ordered wrong. Shouldn't be a problem I guess. Waste of cash... But hey. At least they're put to use. So 6 extra... 2 different bridge rectifiers on the DynaPSU x 2 1MOhm-resistors... 4 x 10 kOhm trim pots x 2 on the DynaHi x 2; Anyone have a part no for the vertical ones? I somehow ordered the horizontal one... Film cap (WIMA) on the DynaHi x 2 And I need to figure out what 20 KLO and KDT are... Dual Tracking? I thought they were resistors and stuffed wrong...
  8. So I just got some old 1982-made Toshiba 2SA1145Y and 2SC2705Y. And now I'm looking at my Mouser-ordered 2SA1145-O. nd I was thinking. Wait, what's the difference except being 25 years newer. Well that O and Y. hFE classification O: 80 to 160, Y: 120 to 240 And after reading that in the data sheet. I still can't fathom, which is "best"? Neither? Or should Y's be used with Y's and O's with O's etc? orry, very new to the whole transistors-thingie. Cheers, V
  9. This might be a moronic question (but bear in mind that I'm a total newb in amp design and I'm trying to learn)... But will it sound the "same"?
  10. https://se.mouser.com/ProjectManager/ProjectDetail.aspx?State=EDIT&ProjectGUID=f7619cf8-8316-490a-829f-741227db9ce9 http://se.mouser.com/ProductDetail/JAE-Electronics/SRCN6A21-16S/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvwyOPDUMfDH5gn/EwOZw6DcRDCXriNW8o= http://se.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=SRCN2A16-7Svirtualkey65610000virtualkey656-SRCN2A167S PERFECT!
  11. More like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Electrical-Deck-7-Pins-250V-10A-Aviation-Circular-Connector-Adapter-/181034344077?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item2a267cde8d But with an appropriate equally sturdy wall-mountable neutrik-like receiving side.
  12. http://se.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Amphenol-Industrial/97-3107A-14S-6P/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMv%2fye0hRulZR7Hv1MjqEjMsBwm8X4dldec%3d Any tips on a similar? Metal construction. Not too bulky connector, etc? I appreciate the help guys. The HARWIN-ones looked nice, but a bit too bulky. I'm looking for something more "classy" but well-built. Thx!
  13. I just found a local source in Sweden (a retired Ericson-employee) that had a lot of silicon gold. He only allowed me to purchase 50 pieces of each. I got some of them reserved for me and Chris (shipsupt) but I'll try to help those in need. Selling for what I purchased them for: 2SC3381-GR 4 USD/piece 2SA1349-GR 4 USD/piece 2SA1145 2 USD/piece 2SA2705 2 USD/piece Add 4,4 USD for S&H (add an extra 13,2 USD for tracking) Very limited supply, so I'll only be selling to those in "need". Qty for 1 to (max) 2 amps/user. Don't abuse it, since it'll take a lot of time for PMs and packing etc. It's more about contributing to this community. Kind regards, V
  14. What did I miss? (1) The topology was copyrighted (2) The specs were purely bs or (3) Something else?
  15. So 2 x 72 VCT @ 2A with extra windings for driving both PSU boards?
  16. Well... First impression means a lot, but from my point of view (which isn't worth much) I'd like to see/hear if he can be more elaborate than just a picture and a word. /V
  17. 370 USD incl. all components. Anyone with a bit more experience want to comment on the topology and the theoretical price/performance of this? /V
  18. Hi Mate! I'm building both... Thx for the update on the KGSSHV trafo. Haven't ordered it yet, and yeah... I'm doing the off-board version. So what specs are correct for the DynaPSU? I used the KGSSHV detailed specs as a "base" that you could explain from...
  19. Don't have that much knowledge on transformers. But I have these specs for the KGSSHV. 450VAC output for +/-500VDC rails Sumr part #: RC0100 050 3 100VA / 117V primary 230 V primary 2 x 450V (@125mA output ea) secondaries 1 x 30VCT (15V-0-15V) 10VA secondary Core band Static shields Would the correct specs be 4 x 72 VCT (36V-0-36V) @ 2A each secondaries? Yeah, I'll be using 2 PSU-boards. /V
  20. Thx guys! What specs should the transformers have? /V
  21. Is the Fluke 117 good enough to bias KGSSHV and Dynahi/Dynapsu? Found a second hand BNIB for about 150€...
  22. Matched pairs is enough! Send me a PM with how much you're asking for them incl. S&H to Sweden. Need for two boards. If you happen to have 2SC3381 & 2SA1349 for two boards too, well... That would be sweet! /V
