facepalm-moderator applied special name question
Where did it come from if a moderator or someone else with 'power' did not do it?

facepalm-moderator applied special name question
What does it mean when the moderator applies a special title to you under your username with the word "Facepalm", repeated? Cueless again...

The Headcase Stax thread
It does not really matter if anyone agrees with which sound I enjoyed best. What matters is what others would enjoy best for themselves which may very well the the opposite of my personal findings.

The Headcase Stax thread
So you don't like it when someone speaking for themselves says something which is apparently not approved by you? I simply noted that it was "likely", which means it is not necessarily a fact, that I would still enjoy and prefer what I have to that which was being compared. Interesting that you would actually take that position. Pardon me for reading and therefore thinking a little which you seem to take so much issue with.

I knew I could stimulate some deep thinking around here.

Castanet - Oh snap. It's coming.
Partial answer: Hey, that would be great, if only there were two secondaries! The 119DA has only one with two taps (autoformer style) of different ratios. No possible way to wire in parallel.

HD programing
Guess I need to go back into the HD box settings and check to see what is going on. Thanks

HD programing
The aspect issue never corrected it when I cycled threw those options. Now in the expanded view it filled the screen but that simply degraded the HD image to something closer to what a standard image detail would be. I wanted them to present the image to fill a standard wide screen left to right without my having to expand it myself. This just spreads the lines being shown in the HD screen over the whole screen thereby losing the detail that should be there.

The Headcase Stax thread
My comparison of the W5000+HA5000 and my UE9+HA5000 was without a doubt a contest which the UE9 won. My comparison of the UE9+HA5000 and my UE9+Yamamoto HA-02 was without a doubt a contest which the UE9+HA-02 won. Therefore, for my myself, the combination of UE9+HA-02 would likely be a winner for me in a comparison with the Sax combo noted. Thanks for your impressions...

HD programing
Everything else works great but these movies for me don't. What settings should I check on?

HD programing
Comcast shows all their HD movies in a box with black on all four sides in a very small box. After the first Pay-for-view HD movie from Comcast I stopped thinking about HD movies from Comcast.

If you can swing for almost ~280$ check out the new ATH-ESW9. It has some congestion in really fast heavily distorted music but otherwise it does very good for jazz, vocals and instrumentals for me. But for the money the ES7 may do as well for you.

I think you will need to hear it yourself and come to your own conclusions about what you are getting. Be patient and don't depend on others to define what you hear because that will get you even more confused.

Too much edition 9 love in Headfi....have u listened to them?
Sometimes you say the nicest things. I think the Yamamoto HA-02's mid-range warmth matches well with the UE9. Maybe it is the synergy that is doing it for me.

There has been some good discussion in the last couple of posts. Very well stated I have to say.

Ultrasone must be the new Bose around here with such venom. It is your loss and not mine. I have own my UE9 for four months and am glad to have it. I have no venom for any headphone maker. And at some level I have enjoyed most of the popular headphones I have listened too. By the way, what "sounds natural?" Note a rhetorical question, since apparently nothing really does. And what is natural about those musical distortions anyway from modern music?

The S-Logic is not about an angled driver but how the sound hits the pina of the ear and the holes placed into the metal shielding. It is about the off-set of the driver and where the sound hits the ear. That is why the ear cups needs to be place forward and down. The sound is not driven directly into the tube of the ear which is the primary thing that even angled drivers do. There are many design features of a lot of headphones that are not oblivious. With the Ultrasone headphones even the ear pads have special characteristics that vary between each headphone model in their line.
