JH Audio stuffs
If I remember correctly I waited for about a week the first round and it ended up being a couple of weeks before I sent them out this time. After the first refit it took a few days but I did find the fit got better but I think much of it had to do with my figuring out how to get the right ear inserted properly. I'm really hoping I won't have to send them back again.
- Happy birthday, postjack!

Sometimes the HD-650's bore me...
Should be a good time to pick up an HF-2 used... although I still say JH13|Pro.

Converting ALAC files to FLAC
Can you get Rockbox on a Touch? That'll play FLAC. If storage space isn't a big issue I'd just make converted copies, using dbpoweramp's batch conversion it should be fairly painless.

Could be, the arms on all my glasses and sunglasses are plastic/polycarb.

I find them a bit noisy, squeaking against the arms of my glasses, which is why I've been considering a Null Audio cable as I've not had any issues with the one on my Triple.Fi's.

Oh, so this is where everyone went...
Hey Thaddy, welcome back! Man, I still feel angry and a bit guilty about that whole Ken Law fiasco myself.

I sort of want a pair of good closed phones
I just got a pair of VTG's today that I traded my HF-2's for. It was kind of an unexpected trade but when the offer came up I remembered that they seemed to be fairly well regarded by some here who I've come to feel have similar tastes in headphones. I've been listening to them for a couple of hours and I'm pleasantly surprised at how good they are, they're certainly going to make the pain of the 13Pro's gone for another refit a little easier to take.

Sorry to hear the communication sucks, I've heard mixed reviews about that aspect of the company. The cable I have was bought second hand with my Triple.Fi's so I've never had to deal with them. Did you have any problems with the pins fitting? I tried my Null Audio cable on the 13Pro's but the pins were far too loose to make a good connection and I didn't want to chance bending them and ruining their use on the Triple.Fi's which I still use for back up and lawn work. Also, how flexible is the Null? I ask because mine's an older prototype and is a bit stiff and unwieldy, it's almost like the braid is a bit too tight. What I do like about my Null cable though is the plastic tubes around the memory wire, the JH Audio stock cable squeaks quite a bit when it rubs against my glasses but I've never had that problem with the Null on my Triple.Fi's which is why I'm kind of interested in trying the Null on the 13's.

Monkey, don't know if this makes a difference or not but I've come to attribute a somewhat "hot" top end on the 13Pro's as not quite getting a proper seal. That would also account for the sense of lacking bass. I noticed the "hot" treble mostly with the demo's but when I first got my 13Pro's I wasn't sure what to make of the sound, I expected if I wasn't getting a good seal they would sound like ass but they sounded pretty good albeit the bass seemed a bit shy from my recollections of them. Now, after one refit, I'm able to get a much better seal and the sound quality has increased quite a bit, bass is noticeably more solid and they seem smoother and more spacious on a whole.- What are you listening to Part Two
