Paying that much for casework in a USB transport, you kinda would have to get a custom computer case to match. I can't think of any off-the-shelf towers that are blingy enough. I like the silver Lian Lis, but even those would not be shiny enough to convey your general disregard for money. Maybe just stick a few bottles of Cristal on top?

$1300 for weak bass seems like a poor value to me, but maybe these headphones aren't as easy to drive as claimed. Alternatively, maybe that bass will come out with a decent source, but who knows? Beyer has been pretty inconsistent with the bass quantity on their phones.
But besides the purported lack of bass, the form factor itself is pretty terrible for a "portable". So it's a faily fail in my book.

A double-digit-piece set is kinda out of the question, as I already own a few usable pieces, and I really don't have space for much more =(. The Le Creuset looks decent enough, but nothing on Amazon is really jumping out at me. All the "sale" items are on sale for the same price at several other online retailers. I think I'll check out a b&m or 2 before making a decision. Thanks!

So I'm in the market for a decent cheapish pot type thing. I only want to buy 1 all-purpose item, so I'm thinking a stainless pasta set should be cool for pasta and soups. I braise a fair bit as well, and that's got me considering enameled Dutch ovens. However, I still need something for pasta, and intuition tells me Dutch ovens wouldn't be perfect for pasta. Sooo would I rather use a stainless stock pot to braise or a cast iron oven to boil pasta? No idea... Actually, I don't even know if enameled is considered better than bare cast iron; seasoning sounds like a pan in the bum, though. I'm a lazy cook for sure =D.
Any good cookware forums out there for me to peruse? I managed to find the Chowhound cookware section and eGullet, but I have no idea how knowledgeable those guys are.

Not all coolers in pre-built computers are shitty -- the one in my Vaio is pretty outstanding.
I have no idea what goes into pre-built computers =). I assume anything marketed to gamers has pretty nice cooling bits.
I put my computer together initially using the cooler that came in the box with my chip. It's really bad.

So I recently bought an aftermarket CPU cooler after a few yrs of using the shitty thing that came with my processor. Good lord, putting the cooler into an already built computer was a huge pain in the booty hole. I had to take everything off the motherboard so I could remove the entire thing and mount a bracket onto the back. Lesson learned: have the nice CPU cooler/fan ready before building the computer.

If I were to break it down, I'd say it was a decent but lackluster post overall. No mention of amp/source hurts a bit, as most kids have no idea what a decent source is.
Also: posting HD800 impressions in 2011? Yawn.
But yazz flute is an interesting enough name to make up for some of that. Better "yazz" than "skin", I say.

honestly folks, how many % people like us constitute to overall market of headphones/dap player market? 1? 2? or 5% max ? These product are aimed for mass market out there. its whole different world out there and like it or not we are the geeks of headphone. everyone @hf and especially here most likely been told by friends/families something like : wtf

Nobody knows or cares what the phones in there sound like. They could be stuffed with JH13s, but they'd still be stupid and ugly.

I consider myself to be a believer, and it seems that computer transports improve by leaps and bounds up to maybe $300-ish, which is the price of a used pro sound card or Squeezebox. I definitely think i heard a significant difference between my current sound card and previous ghetto setup of running straight from my motherboard.
I think one can comfortably top out at the totl Lynx or possibly Transporter at around $1k and call it a day forever. I guess those super stacker players from like dCS/MSB/Spectral/whomever are supposed to be slightly better, but that is sooooo much more money. I can think of like infinity things I'd want before getting one of those transports.
