So I'm taking a 3 week vacation to the Philippines next week and I'd like to be able to stream video from various sources - Netflix, NBC Sports, HBO GO, etc. and I know that there are limitations on streaming these outside the USA. It seems like a VPN is a feasible solution.

 

Any recommendations on which service to use? I don't mind paying for a month and I'm trying to stream via iPad/iPhone and perhaps using my laptop as a backup. Thanks!

Thanks Shelly, that looks promising and relatively cheap. For some reason, Netflix is not listed as an app that their service will help enable, not sure why that is.

Oh, I thought they were but maybe Netflix changed the way they do things since the last time I looked.

Seems like Netflix has some way to detect people using geolocator tricks or VPNs. Better than nothing though, HBO GO and streaming the Tour de France is better than nothing

IIRC you just need to use an american dns with it for netflix to work

I use TunnelBear on both my laptop and phone. $5 a month if I remember correctly. I've not VPN'd to the US but it works well for the UK etc.

I use playmo.tv to watch Netflix here as well as everything else. 

You can also use hotspotshield.com to get a VPN
