June 25, 200719 yr I am looking to buy some RAM/. Any suggestions for a reliable source? PC2700 CL2.5 NP DDR SDRAM SODIMM Memory Thanks!
June 25, 200719 yr I usually watch the local ads: Best Buy Circuit City (although I'd never buy from them) Staples Office Depot CompUSA Micro Center ...and then wait for the appropriate stuff to go on sale. I'll take down your information and see if I can find anything good this week. Also: pricewatch. Check out my thread about which brands are reliable.
June 25, 200719 yr Also check compare123.com--they list prices for sites all over the web. http://compare123.com/x/search.cgi?query=pc2700+ddr+sdram+notebook+memory
June 25, 200719 yr I'm using PC2700 in my laptop and it's running great with Kingston ValueRAM. I've never experienced a BSOD, and both sticks passed every memtest86 bench.
June 25, 200719 yr Author Thanks guys! Basically, yes, I don't even remember when was the last time I purchased ram, and even when I did it it was for a mac. So I am basically clueless.
June 25, 200719 yr Also check out newegg their prices are usually very good and their service is great.
August 24, 200718 yr Hey, sorry, I never got back to you on this -- did you ever end up getting anything? If not: you have a Lenovo Thinkpad? Do you know what size modules is the max that you can take?
August 24, 200718 yr Author Hey Dusty, no worries, yep, I got a 1 giger Kingston PC2700. It can take 2 of those, max I think. It made a huge difference.
