non-ASCII character support

Young, just use the "sup" tag.

Example (remove* to make work) mini[sup*]3[/sup*]

mini3

However, ASCII support beyond stuff like that was discussed and I think it's a forum software issue and not likely to change. I never used ascii for anything other than superscript numbers so I find this solution more than acceptable.
