Amarra Mini does for me seem to make the music sound better. All I know about it technically is that it uses the input clock somehow, I imagine for output instead of whatever Apple's Core Audio or iTunes uses. Vs the cost of the rest of my gear, the $295 it was recently was worth it for me.
