  1. Well, I used the V1/18.5 combo a ton on our trip to Gettysburg. Even Lauren liked it... It was great to have when she didn't want to carry around the D700. Based on reviews, I was a little concerned about the depth-of-field control when shooting wide open due to the small sensor size. But it performed well enough and is actually pretty forgiving, which is nice for a hack like me. The only thing I don't love is the auto white balance, as most of the pictures lack some warmth. But once I start getting used to using a grey card or processing the photos, it should be fine. Here are a few SOC shot in .jpg running full manual mode. Even with the cost of the new lens, the total investment is under $500, and I have no doubt that this far out performs most P&S or camera phones. When all is said and done, it certainly could approach a consumer grade DSLR total investment, and one could argue it doesn't match even a crop-sensor DSLR, but the size and flexibility fantastic and is a nice complement to Lauren's D700.

Group buy announcement! See why I said there would be a short pause? As soon as these two gentlemen commit to a final for production for the group I will do the group buy. Hopefully in the next few days. I will pm all people who have put their names down for confirmation and payment. The total requests for amps was around 80 boards and PS 50.
  3. The khozmo is a massive piece of crap. I have 2 on my desk that after repeated tries, cannot be made reliable. wiper made out of material without enough spring and eventually it goes intermittent and noisy. The dact is also a piece of crud. At least it stays reliable for a significant period of time. The rk50, penny&giles, and constant impedance digital attenuators are the only things that work correctly forever.
  4. I see your fax, and raise to LTE. Gimme some of that pork goodness. Nice, Al, Mikey, JP, and Peter. So wish we were all there with you.
  5. They will come and grind it during the week. Watching them pull it out with a 120 ton crane over a building was awesome.

You american lost basketball Pan title to us in 87, and in response made the Dream Team, and the world saw what a top notch team You can make, since THIS is the native sport for USA, I guess. For us, Brazilians, the sport of passion is futebol, by a mile and half. It is, really, a true opportunity for poor kids to reach fame and fortune, and they play with such a passion and focused mind. And joy, a lot of it. BUT, we have a LOT of problems regarding the big bosses who own and rule the sport here. The results You saw in the last games, a passionless, mindless and soulless group of players, who do not even qualify as a team. I hope for a rediscover, re-foundation of Brazilian futebol, but can´t see it in the near future. We have, in our premier league, called Série A, less spectators in stadium than C series on Germany. Medium < 15.000 paying people. All teams here have problems in Justice, IRS debts, and so on. So, no nice futebol, as seen on 70, 82, 86, in the forecast. Tomorrow, since I love a beautiful game, hope for an even match, and Argentina all the way. Go Messi!
  7. I'm a glutton for punishment.
