Just ordered ATT U-verse, which only recently became available without requiring TV. 12MBs down/3MBs up, install is Fri. Apparently with this speed it's fiber optic all the way to the house! Unfortunately, it means a service visit; figured it was worth it for future proofing. A big upgrade from my 1.5MBs DSL, can't wait!

I can use chopsticks, but am told by 'real' Asians that I hold them like a kindergartener or a barbarian.

Pretty yummy, indeed! Haven't been able to convince Anne that sushi is awesome (yet). So when I get time alone, it's often for sushi.

Forbidden City Roll: Spicy Tuna, Lettuce, Unagi, Ebi, with Organic Wild Black Rice, Also some Tuna, Yellowtail, Salmon sushi. I have lunch and the afternoon to myself, after having the kids to myself all weekend. My wife was in the Twin Cities visiting one of her best friends who underwent her second round of chemo due to breast cancer. Edit: The roll is good, but it's Unagi sauce, no Unagi! So I just ordered a piece of Unagi sushi. Have to have that!

It's sometimes, but not always, a factor for me. The musicians I've known never cared about recording quality, just the performance.

I'd agree. I bought one or two of the original redbook only CDs, thought 'meh', and stopped. When the SACD hybrids came out, I wasn't so excited, but a Music Direct guy talked me into one. I loved it and ended up buying a bunch more. I never compared the CD layer of the SACD hybrid to the CD-only redbook CD, though. Got lazy over the years, I guess, or just not enough time.

I heard him interviewed on NPR once and emailed him a question about it. He actually wrote back a pretty thoughtful response, pretty cool! Smart guy, blew off med school to pursue his jazz career.

Looks like the same symphony cycle, but mine lacks the lieder. Mine is probably the reissue of a reissue to catch the cheapskates like me. I love Symphony #1, and liked snippets of various symphonies I've heard on the radio, but don't often have the time to get through an entire Mahler symphony. I noticed several posts in the 'Favorite 5 minutes of music' list the Resurrection Symphony, so I'm listening to that now. I liked it on first listen, so I'm hopeful. We'll see about the rest- I do tend to get lost in Mahler - I just thought it was me, so glad to hear you say that!
