It's a shame the 65 doesn't hit up Seneca Ridge Trail, I've read good things about that run.

Yeah, count me in on the metric century goal. Same for the road bike too! After the fit, I find the bike is much more comfortable and really didn't feel uncomfortable even after 30miles. I did have a bit of numbness in my toes, so I'll check with the fitter to see what's up with that (or it might just be me tightening the straps on my shoes too much).

Gonna pass on that, my legs definitely need some recovery time. Think I might go on the local shop ride and just take it easy. Next weekend perhaps?

Nah, the meet and greet yesterday was enough. Today he was swarmed with riders. http://www.strava.com/activities/90037618 Avg speed of 12.6. Good enough I guess

Forgot my gloves, so I had really cold hands for the first 40 min or so. Other than that I grouped up with another rider and that made the ride much more enjoyable.

I drove the course today after packet pickup, some of those climbs are intense! Definitely going to have to watch my heart rate carefully. Thanks for the advise, I picked up a pair of arm warmers and a base layer. There are a couple of decent inclines within the first 5 miles, so I imagine I should warm up fairly quickly once we get going. I also recorded a video clip or two of Jens' stories, will have to see if they turned out well...

No worries Chris, hope you and your kids have a good day at the farm/pumpkin patch. I'll have to see how worn out my legs are after the event. I don't mind the drive, but I might just take it easy and do the local shop ride Sunday.

Going to give it a try just to see how it compares to the fit I just got I don't have enough room in my apartment so I'll probably bring it over to the lbs to test it out there.

Specialized 3d BG fit, with no sensors...so I guess that's an old fashioned fit. My 172.5 crank length seemed fine, though he did move the cleat in a bit to move my feet out slightly.

Had a fit done today and my stem was shortened, seat moved forward, seatpost lowered, and shims added under the cleats. I'm a lot less stretched out now

Yeah, that's quite a bit of a drive for you We could carpool up from my area if you want, but I'd have to use my Saris rack since my 1up rack is only a single. Mapped out the 30mi course on Strava: http://www.strava.com/routes/48276

Pricing and deadlines for the 30 and 15mi are the same: through the 17th = $45, between 18-19th = $60. Metric century pricing is $55/$75, respectively

I really suck at climbing, to the point that it takes a while for to recover from a climb if I let my heart rate get too high. The only reason I'm hesitating is because of the climbing; 15 additional miles of flat riding or near-flat riding wouldn't be too bad for me, but the 15mi course (pdf) has 469ft of gain while the 30mi course (pdf) has 2,428ft of gain. That being said, I'm leaning towards just going for the 30mi and taking it at pace that keeps my heart rate at a reasonable level. Chris, hope Ben feels better soon. It sucks to be sick
