It's a good deal IMO, with the FR tonearms selling for insane prices by themselves. The TTS series of turntables are very rare outside Japan.(and pretty damn sexy) It would be worth every penny of the $1800. Woah....hold on there. Sony put out some KILLER turntables that the mainstream don't even know about, and this is one of them. The TTS series is on par with the best Technics like the SP-10 MK2, with some saying that they are better. This is a extremely well built broadcast quality table with a killer tonearm.

Birgir, have you thought about experimenting with having some custom baffles made out of some different material(s) ? That may yield some nice improvements.

Yes, this one does rank pretty high on the sibilance scale. (well..if there was one). It is great on some of my setups and borderline unlistenable on others. Norah Jones -Come Away With Me. I have never found it sibilant, but it really has some other problems such as some weird distortions, clipping on peaks, etc. It can be pretty bad on a really revealing setup.
