  1. I say no timeout...yet.
  2. I'm home sick today with a cold. Will watch the Yankees parade, which is only a few blocks away, but I've been to a WS victory parade. One is plenty. Also got my connection to teh Interwebs bumped up: I think they added moar toobz.
  3. With respect to service manuals, I have encountered two manufacturers recently that are not necessarily eager to share such things. Dodson and TEAC. TEAC sent the service manual, but it is not necessarily as complete as one would like. Dodson (Silversmith Audio) won't share it schematics at all. And I agree that is annoying.
  4. Shut it, 'stretch. He has things to teach us about economics, chipses, and service manuals!
  5. You're getting on my nerves.
  6. You'll have to bear with us. We're often drunk. Now do you think it possible that they could be stamping 1704k on an entirely different chip? Do you have much experience with counterfeits from Asia? It sounds like you know a lot. Unfortunately, like 'stretch, I am an ignoramus. My personal work experience with counterfeits in China is limited only to mass-manufacturing of pharmaceuticals/OTC drugs and, to a lesser extent, consumer goods. But I do know a fair amount about Chinese petrochemical companies and their plants. I could swap funny stories about those all day long.
  7. I guess USB and Hi Res would really be the only things. It's nice they haven't messed with it; it's a nice DAC.
  8. I think it's odd that Electrocompaniet has not updated the ECD-1.
  9. It's enough to make a man want a DAC with a phono stage.
  10. Shelly, I am looking forward to your, er, impressions once you get the JH13.
  11. You like that French nonsense.
  12. This is my favorite post of the week.
  13. Tycho Brahe thinks the 1704 sounds like ass.
  14. As a member of the Head-Case legal team, we reserve all rights to mock whomever we wish in whatever form we wish, including, but not limited to, "logic [sic] fallacies" and math errors, if any.
  15. Heh, sorry about that. My father, brother, and I are trying to plan a pilgrimage to Wrigley next summer.
  16. As a Yankee fan, not only am I delighted by this win because it restores the Natural Order of Things, but I also believe that I, as a native New Yorker, am entitled to multiple World Series Championships. The rest of you should, of course, continue to root for your silly little teams. They sometimes win it all, too! EDIT: Well, except for the Cubs, they don't win it all, poor bastards.
  17. From: Electrocompaniet Introduces the ECR 1?A High-Performance, Do-All Tuner | AVguide "The Norwegian high-end audio firm Electrocompaniet has just announced its stunningly versatile ECR 1 tuner, which
  18. I just sold them.
  19. Just bought a near-mint 600. So there. BTW: Thanks for the offers to lend out a pair; they're much appreciated.
  20. reks do you like the 650?
  21. I'm cranky. And I don't want to buy the Jh13.
  22. So loud bands need moar drivers? wtf?
  23. I sense a timeout in the near future...
