Nope, I bought them used for my roommate. He has been using my A900s I sold him for a year, and when he wanted to upgrade, I just told him to go straight to the W5000s since he likes the AT sound.

I convinced my roommate to get a pair of W5000s, but too bad for him, he's out of town this week. I got permission from him to listen to the W5000s. So far I like what I'm hearing, although I'm not ready to say anything meaningful yet.

I think if you are only buying a 360 for Gears of War alone, then it's not worth it, but then again, it's (relatively) cheap, so it can't hurt. But if there are other exclusively-Xbox gaming franchises that interest you, then buying a 360 is a no-brainer. The bottom line is: focus on games, not tech-specs. That's the reason I'm in no hurry to get a PS3, yet.

I'd get the 360 as of now, because even if you want a PS3, you probably won't be able to get one, and the 360 is cheaper, more games in the library, proven online community, etc. However, I would eventually get a PS3 once the supply problem goes away.

So the F1 finally came, and thus far I'm very impressed. It's the best amplifier I've heard or had for the K1000s. Lots of headroom and power, will try to post some comparison with my Aleph 3 after more listening.

I get where you are coming from. If I could have speakers, believe me I would. But until that time when living arrangements allow, I'm stuck with headphones. And oh yeah, I need to hear the Leatherhead one of these days.

I heard Mikhail's balanced R10s at a meet recently out of a Dynamight; it certainly is the best closed headphone I've heard. It has that airy sound that I like, and the midrange is flawless. I felt the bass was a little bit light, but not something that I would mind. Maybe the SDS-XLR would've made them a lot better, but somehow Mikhail didn't get it to work for some reason. But I felt like the R10s are ridiculously over-priced, but then again, so are pretty much all OOP headphones.

So would you say that the bass impact on the R10 is electrostat-like?

This thread no longer applies to me lol. The Omega IIs don't fit on my head no matter how hard I try, and after listening to a HD650s running balanced at a recent meet, I realized that they don't really complement my existing setup. I'm probably off the wagon for the present.

I guess I'll be able to test it out, since Neil's hosting a mini-meet at his place. I will be able to compare the HEV90 against the ES-1, and the HE90s and the O2s.

Well, I'm scratching both plans unfortunately, because I can't get a good fit on the O2s, and I'm no longer interested in the HD650s
