I'm looking forward to listening to the album this evening. If only I could manage to pry the Justice album out of my CDP. I had no idea, but when an album carries with it an overload of sheer coolness, it can cause bonding between the CD and one's system on a level deeper even the the subatomic, meaning pure cosmic spiritual soul energy. Well the Justice CD has so much pure cosmic spiritual soul energy my system won't give it up. I think its about to when I'm yelling at it, but then it starts playing and tells me "just one more time jack, then we'll listen to the new radiohead." But then the first track kicks in and I'm sharing in the universal groove, and then I don't want to listen to anything else.

i said we should have super special sales action. like somebody should make some sweet gear to sell, then we can all line our pockets with the profits and feast off the bounty.

I'm waiting around a bit to see about the new MKII. Either it will be good enough to snatch up, or its appearance will make used O2s pop up all over on the cheap. Anyway, I just dumped a lot of cash into my dynamic rig (Balanced Beta22), so I really don't need any new gear right now.

Somebody should build a super special like gears for a special sales action. So head-case can get all rich, and we feast off the bounty.

I really think I would like the O2.

Well, I think "rock music" is a loaded term when it comes to audio discussion. When I say rock, I don't mean modern brickwalled pro-tooled rangeless recordings, nor do I mean piss-poor Led Zeppelin remasters (not that I like Zeppelin anyway, or the Stones for that matter). I mean more nuanced and breathe-y rock like Genesis or King Crimson, or the analog stylings of Ryan Adams. But on the other hand, even when a rock recording may not be the best recorded and/or mastered, like Grateful Dead soundboards or old Fall recordings, I don't want any false slam added to the mix to make it sound more "alive". So long as my gear portrays what is on the recording accurately, that is what gets me off.

Nothing makes me want to rock out like my RS-1s. More and more I'm coming to admire headphones that sound like great headphones, not like mediocre speakers. For all their faults, Grados do something that my 22L's can't. More and more I'm turning to my speakers for classical works, while the once lauded HD650s hang forlornly on the rack.

hey, my head is clean! i rinse it at least once every week or two and get in a good scrub with dish soap for holidays. plus on friday nights i coat it with only the finest vegetable oils.

This was not here when I bought these from jpak. Now I'm looking to sell these, and I see this white grunge on my headband: Is this something normal that happens to the headband? It doesn't seem to wipe off, but I'm not wiping that hard because I don't want to rip the material.

Interesting story about how George Harrison's son is a huge Wu fan and russell crowe gave RZA an old guitar. I just think the RZA is always interesting to listen to. This also makes Wu-Tang the first hip-hop group to (legally) sample a Beatles song.

yeah, no need to stick ones toe in the pool of vinyl, since turntables are a pain in the ass to ship. might as well just buy a high end table and be happy. and yes I realize I have a $400 direct drive turntable whose design has remained unchanged since the late 70s.

werd. what table are you looking at? they say that vinyl is king.

Its a fantastic looking set. Worth $45? Well, for that price I would have expected a slightly beefier case, but its plenty durable. I would think $35 would be more reasonable, but hell vinyl is pricey these days, so I can't complain. The good news is that the vinyl sounds great, only a few pops in the first track, from then on its quiet. The vinyl is thick, heavy, and perfectly flat. As far as sound comparisons go, I feel the CD has more punchy impact, more visceral immediacy. The vinyl doesn't make me want to "rock out" like when I'm cranking the CD . Typically I find the vinyl version of any album to be more visceral, but on this album it isn't the case. What you get in return is a surprising liquidity, considering this is a DDA, and the deep bass notes reach waaaay down low. This liquidity and deep bass makes the album sound slower and more PRaT-ty. Its like I feel like at any moment the record is about to slip into slow-motion, but it never does And no this isn't speed issues with my table, cause I have a technics. even die-hard DD haters will tell you the 1200 has perfect speed. What this all adds up to is a very involving listening experience that is different from the CD. If one has a vinyl rig, and loves this album, and is willing to spend the money, I recommend it.
