And in no way did I mean to berate the MS2i's. Bang for the buck, they are the best headphone's I've bought. But an end of the year bonus put the RS1's in reach and I pulled the trigger. But the MS2i's made me realize I really love the Grado sound, and were an excellent buy.

What he said. I just did that, MS2i to RS1. Though the RS1's are still burning in, I am quite the happy listener.

Favorite Music Lyrics (Read the Fucking Rules You Damn Philistines)
Absorbine_Sr replied to thrice's topic in Music
Dusty FTW!!! My God I love that song!!! Anyway, mine is simply one line, but it rolls off the tongue wonderfully. The fact that it describes something so horrific makes it even more delightful to me: Artist: Warren Zevon Album: Excitable Boy Song: "Werewolves of London" Lyric: "Little old lady got mutilated late last night" -
How has your rig changed in 2007? And do you have any future plans?
Absorbine_Sr replied to postjack's topic in Miscellaneous
In 2007 I got my Zana Deux, sold off my 1st gen EC/SS. I bought and not too long after sold a pair of Darth Beyers, not my cup of tea. I met a really bad influence named EdipisReks who convinced me I needed a better source. That took me from the MF X-Ray V3 to the Resolution Audio Opus 21. I forgive Reks because he was correct. I replaced my Dimarzio IC's with Anti-IC's. And I finally bought some Grado's - MS2i's and most recently new RS1's. I know, not as good as vintage RS1's, but the current pricing scared me away. And so far, the new ones sound damn fine. And at the next meet I can compare them to vintage and see what I'm missing. There have been many tubes purchased and a lot of music. 2007 was a good year. No immediate plans yet for 2008 other than to avoid Reks as he seems to trigger wallet puking on my end. -
That's what has been in the back of my mind while reading this thread. When I first saw the intensity with which the membership here attacked asshats, I was a bit put off. But I also found that the "cringe" factor over threads I read here is 100% less than what I see at HF. I think the core membership here knows how to make asshats run away crying without resorting to locked threads. And if people seeing some dark humor on the main page are put off, do they fit in with the overall ethos of the site? Just my $.02.

How many threads do you get? Oh well, Happy Birthday again! 27? Hell, you're just a pup. Enjoy!!

He knew where to go! Congrats if you keep him. He obviously knows a cat person when he sees one, and people don't adopt cats, cats adopt people. Our best cat ever, Fred, was a stray. He jumped and hung from our kitchen window screen for several days until we took hin in and fed him. And he stayed with us for almost 20 years. When they adopt you the bond seems stronger.

Happy Birthday Jacob! Enjoy!!

Another vote for ! It was gonna be Reks but after all his mentions of fine beer, whiskey etc. on here. the only thing he offered me was some crappy Ohio potato chips.....

Does renting count? If so, a 15 yard dumpster that's now parked in my driveway. I am finally clearing the room that holds my computer and headphone rig. It's a back bedroom that has over the years become a storage shed for everything from clothes to video tapes to books to computer parts to whatever the hell else we could stuff in here. I'm going to gut the room, throw out all non-essentials (not books - it's a sin to throw away books), rip up the carpeting and refloor, paint the place and dedicate it to my rig, my computer, music and books. I've been meaning to do this for some time but my fat lazy ass has finally started the task.

I'm spreading whirlled peas.

Have any of you tried out a pair of Alessandro MS Pros?
Absorbine_Sr replied to Chekhonte's topic in Headphones
I've realy enjoyed my MS2i's. I've not heard the Pro's so can't compare, but the MS2i's are very good through the lows and mids. They were a touch shrill at first but a pair of flat pads fixed that. -
Happy Birthday Baby Jesus!!! Merry Xmas to all - off to Mom's now to make and consume mass quantities! Mike

The wife made a cornbread/pork sausage/egg/topped-with-sliced-apples kind of thing for a late breakfast/early lunch that was fairly tasty.

Borders had a list price of 79.95 and I had a 40% off coupon so it was $47 + tax. All of the CD's have an additional inner sleeve and look like 45's including the fake grooves on the label side.
-
The Clash - The Singles. 19 CD's with all of the UK singles plus additional songs, all in reproductions of the original 45 sleeves.

If we could see full face smiling shots of all of them, wouldn't that be redundant?

Oh, and welcome. I can guarantee I will never say anything interesting.

Yes, thanks for the info. I'm ready to travel down the RS-1 road in the near future, and was wondering how different new vs. old could be. So I guess I need to look for older, but the recent price elevation is scaring me off just a bit. Always late to the dance....

Cool. That almost appears to be Revilo pulling a Kliban.

Not technically eating it right now but I did sample it - I just finished making a batch of Pico De Gallo to take to work tomorrow. Flaming good with 4 jalapeno's. The recipe calls for seeding them and removing the ribs but that neuters the batch. So at 8:00 AM it'll be flame on.

Thanks from an enthusiastic Doctor fan. And to meld memes, here's this:
