wow Tyler that is amazing! I always wondered why wires had different colors, and I thought the color dictated the sound coming from the wire.
You should try my new prototype 256 conductor ICs. 128 different sound colors, painstakingly matched to 128 independent ground channels for unparalleled performance.

Does this newest board revision no longer allow for ixys outputs?

I could not stop laughing as soon as this started.

Summary: Brent and I are e-thugs. Brent's wife is worth two goats and three chickens. Stupid people are impossible to subtly insult, you have to be quite direct.

You should rent out IEMs and never bother replacing the tips between users. Imagine the new diseases you could create.

There is a new google feature that will keep you entertained for hours (or 5min if you're a dirty unimaginative hippie). Search "bacon number" and insert a random celeb. It's like playing six degrees of Kevin Bacon with Jeebus.

I bought the character packs at full price, zero regrets about not being able to get them at a huge discount for the sale.
It's definitely a game worth supporting.

12 hour sale going on now with Killing floor.
Game's $5.
Game + all characters is $7.49.
edit: it will end around 10pm PST

It's not the distance... it's the utter ridiculousness of the return trip on a Sunday evening. When I drove back from the last Irvine meet, I think I was stuck at the 5/101 split for a good 45minutes. 75min to get to the meet, over 120 to get back. Don't hold a spot open for me, as I can't yet guarantee I'll come down.
When in the heck did you get/build a T2? I thought you were done with electrostats.

Thanks CeeTee... I hereby rescind my request for pics of egg.

That's what I get for being a bum... Have fun fellas. I demand pics of ribs and this "egg" OP speaks of.

I haven't started populating any of the lil knight boards, even though i bought sets for both Dynas and a KGSSHV. Also slightly regretful I'm late to this thread, as I was planning on putting a dynafet together sometime in the next year or five.

And goodies from birgir's bakery, whose version of fruit cake
is just amazing. (not what we think of as fruit cake in the usa
which is generally useful for pounding nails and not much else)
Birgir calls the stuff "stolen" but stolen here is not anything
like that.
Edible fruit cake? Now I've heard it all. As for the amp project... It's like trying to build a Yugo from the ground up. Sure sounds fun, but when you're done who the hell would want to use it?

I think of it less as a disaster and more like a Nascar wreck. As many times as I posted to deter the guy from building it, I secretly wanted him to try it anyways and post 3 months from now about how his life flashed before his eyes upon his first attempt to power it up. An extra bonus would have been attached photos of small housefires it may have caused.

Actually eating one for lunch this very moment. I don't eat at jack in the box often (maybe 4x/yr), so I can't compare it to their bacon cheeseburger, but the samich reminds me of a regular bacon cheeseburger with a slice of tomato and extra lettuce. They put quite a few slices of bacon, but the slices are paper-thin so you get the crunch but not much of the flavor. Also, they use the shredded lettuce, so between the shredded lettuce and the paper-thin bacon, the texture's all wrong.
sidenote: I'm still trying to think of something that would taste worse if cooked in baconfat, but I just can't do it.

You know, anodizing/powdercoating/painting is often an insulator, who even needs tape?
Only a matter of time before someone sues par metals because their anodization layer wasn't thick enough to insulate their amp boards. That being said, any small scratch in the finish and you're heading for a fun fireworks show.

However, on top of stuffing the boards, I am a little worried about wiring it up for testing and actual wiring as one wrong connection can mean a whole load of charred parts and not to mention the spraks flying around. Is it possible to have a wiring diagram for double checking purposes to mininise wiring mistakes?
This phrase has been repeated so often in this thread, it is practically cliche... RESEARCH! If you don't know how to connect the primaries/secondaries of a transformer to match your country's power grid, you probably shouldn't be messing with this project. There are dozens of articles on wiring up power supplies and amplifiers (Our old HF/HW buddy Tangent has some pretty good articles that explains it in a way a first-timer would understand). An incredibly quick google search will show you how to connect an XLR or RCA to an amplifier (with photo diagrams).
This isn't another one of those fool-proof projects you'll find on the other forum where every single thing is laid out for you. KG released the schematics and the pcb files. Someone even went through the trouble of making a BOM. You missed out on the board group-buy, but perhaps there'll be another one when KG releases the new pcb revision. You're pretty much on your own from there.

Thanks Tyll. I specifically appreciate the suggested alternatives, where if someone says they want the beats solo, what phones are superior at the same price range. Really great article to link to friends who mention they're looking for new headphones and bring up the Fiddy cans.

This thread has been derailed so badly it's in orbit.

Lower output voltage swing perhaps, but I've never run my original KGSS (350V) past 1/2 output so I doubt output voltage is a big concern. The KGBH only runs on a +/- 400V supply. I've lost track of half of the thread, so I don't remember if the FET outputs had any meaningful change on the sound of the amplifier. The reason I asked is I remember the 2sa1968 used to be quite expensive, and FET outputs just seemed like a fun change from the classic KGSS I already have. I see sanyo 1968LS in stock for under $10 now, so it may not be as big of a concern as it used to be.
