  1. Well, this is Brazil Antonio, so everything's possible... I actually saw a 3D scan (no idea if it's a tomography or whatever) as well because my brother-in-law is a doctor and has a friend who works in a hospital in Fortaleza... then there's WhatsApp... you get the idea.
  2. There's actually a big rumour around here that this is all fake. Brazil is going through very difficult times economically and socially. Current government is a joke and hosting the World Cup in a country with increasingly bad education and health systems is an outrage. I actually think it'll be good for the country if we lose, since the happiness will be over and we will be able to go back to complaining about our situation. Still, I think that this is just a conspiracy theory, as I can't bring myself to believe that it would be possible to fake such a big thing with so many countries involved. In other news, I just learned that Neymar's back is fractured and that we lost him for the WC. I wasn't at all confident before that, but now, I completely lost hope. If we win now, the conspiracy theory is going to convince me.
  3. You proud, Al? Just kidding Everything's just upside down in this WC. I'm surprised it's not happening in Australia.
  4. I'm glad you think so! And very sad that you don't.
  5. Agree with everything. Brazil just isn't what it used to be anymore... if we manage to win (something I find relatively unlikely), it's going to be very very difficult and luck will definitely play its part. Some of it is down to the trainer, Felipão, I think. He's really stubborn and keeps insisting on players who are not doing well. Fred is horrible, Hulk played well today but wasn't doing so in every other game and then there's Jô...there are better players around who weren't called for the team.
  6. I'm no sore winner, Al. I have watched the replay several times. It was a clear shoulder movement and the ball didn't even touch below his shirt. Even Argentinian newspapers, which constantly mock us Brazilians stated that it was unfair.
  7. And come on, Julio César is just a monster.
  8. I actually think we did great on the first half, and we'd clearly have won easily if it wasn't for that bullshit referee. He didn't see a clear penalty on Hulk, annulled his goal when he touched the ball with his shoulder and gave the most unfair yellow card I've ever seen in my life. Not to mention the fact that he stopped the game at every two fucking seconds.
  9. I'm quite curious. I've read some things about the PS-1, but most of it just about how rare they are. Where do they stand sound-wise compared to other Grados?
  10. That's interesting. I'm not a cable believer because I've never heard significant differences brought by cables, except one that I had with a JH13. A friend of mine had a TWag cable or something, so I plugged it on the left side, left the standard cable on the right side and connected both to the GS-X. The difference was dramatic to the point that I turned everything off and on again and re-converted the recording that I was using to mono – I really thought that something was with the system wrong. The funny thing is that it was for the worse. I thought it ruined the sound of the JH13 once I connected the TWag to both sides – it sounded thinner, mid-centric and everything sounded out of place somehow, there was an apparent lack of focus. I figured the cable was badly designed and probably had weird impedance or something, but it was an interesting experience.
  11. Oh, I undestand... that's unfortunate! In that case, I hope it gets sorted out quickly!
  12. I can't stress enough how incredibly worried we are about your opinions.
  13. WTF? First, JH Audio quality issues are pretty well known. The number of people who have problems with them with regards to quality control and costumer service is far from small. A quick look on head-fi will show you that. The products being well regarded in terms of performance doesn't change that. Second, Rob is one of the nicest guys around here. Why the fuck do you have to be so aggressive? You're the nobody.
  14. Rob, I managed to fix my Roxanne myself, maybe you could give it a try? If you're careful it's pretty easy and I if you do it perfectly I don't think they'll be able to find out (not sure if I should be saying this, but anyway). Acrylic is a very easy material to work with. Mine was unbearable and now it's pretty much perfect. I think that if I had sent it to them, it would take a few attempts for it to be perfect - after all, if you do it yourself you'll be able to adjust it and test it very quickly. First you have to find out exactly what areas are bothering you. My suggestion is for you to keep it in your ears for a while until it hurts. Then, with a cotton swab, touch the inside of your ears to find out exactly where it hurts and see what precise area of the IEMs are responsible. Then you can sand it carefully with a heavyish grain sand paper (I started with 320) until it doesn't hurt anymore. You have to patient though, because it's best to go easy not to sand it too much and break the seal. Then you can test it (after a while, when your ears are fresh again) and sand it some more if you need to. Once it's comfortable, you can work up your way to thinner sand papers so as to remove scratchs. I stopped at a 600, but I think you'd get a better result going up to a 1200. Then you use some polishing compound and you're done! The whole process took about two weeks for me because I did it pretty slowly, but it was way way better this way than to have it sent to JH Audio and go through a frustrating process as you're doing right now - it would also be a lot worse for me since I would have to pay taxes everytime it came in.
  15. And we all know where that got him: Maybe you should try that Justin, why don't you come up with a portable BHSE that's just as good as a big one?
  16. Good, good points. I was surprised because to me it's a claim that in the end seems to discredit the whole high-end market (and in a way his own design), but indeed, so many people will pay whatever it costs for the last few percents...
  17. I was just surprised that apparently the man himself said that. Why on earth would he say something like this? It's a weird market...
  18. http://www.cnet.com/news/will-the-400-pono-music-player-sound-like-a-27500-stereo-preamplifier/ WTF?? "No doubt about it, the Ayre Acoustics KX-R Twenty preamplifier's sound quality is truly revelatory. I should hope so, since it sells for $27,500, but here's the truly shocking part: Ayre's owner -- and the preamp's designer -- Charles Hansen, thinks the upcoming Pono Music Player will deliver "80 or 90 percent" of the KX-R Twenty's sound"
  19. Oh no, I meant that upgrading the module is much much simpler than upgrading my MKI GS-X to an MKII, and much less of a hassle. It is a simple plug and play!
  20. I haven't, no! It's something I'm considering, actually. As much as I'd love to upgrade to an MKII, I tend to think it won't be worth the hassle (international sales and all), especially if I can even closer to its performance with such a simple (although not that cheap) upgrade.
