  1. Yeah, you are right, for the ~7(?) DACs or analog preamps out there that have CAST or ACSS outputs, I guess developing a current domain input for the KGSS/KGSSHV would be a fair bit of work that would benefit very few users. While from all accounts it seems this signal transmission scheme does offer real sonic benefit, it is used by almost no one.
  2. Has anyone ever tried interfacing a Krell CAST DAC or Audio-Gd ACSS DAC to a KGSS/KGSSHV amp, keeping the signal in the current domain? I would think that whatever you used for a volume control- be it pot, stepped attenuator, resistor/relay or IC switches would have less sonic impact in an ACSS circuit than using a voltage divider in a voltage-domain circuit..... and in using current domain signals you eliminate the I-to-V stage in the DAC, any stage eliminated is a stage that can't screw with the sound.
  3. WOW! Don't injure your back moving those boxes around!
  4. Ah, good old B D Enterprises! I found that http://www.littlediode.com/components/home.php Little Diode also has them, at greater cost. (Though for those in the UK these may be cheaper due to local sourcing vs. import - duties, customs? Dunno, but maybe.)
  5. Yeah, sorry, didn't quite understand that. OK, great, the group buy is still "on," just extra work for you thanks to an opaque PayPal policy. Sorry to see that you have encountered this problem.
  6. So.... what's the status of this group buy.... I paid, but my money got refunded by PayPal.... there are other ways to pay, I can send via Chase "Quick Pay," there's wire transfer, I can send a money order, I can obtain bank notes in your local currency and mail them registered small parcel.... I can send some gold.... It's a hassle, but maybe the way to do it is to use PayPal's "send money personal" feature rather than "pay for goods" - I mean, there's some risk to the buyers if you take the money and go to the casino, LOL, but I don't think any of us is worried about that!
  7. Is "jealousity" a word? As in, "maximum jealousity...."
  8. TPI ADF15 High Voltage Differential Probe ebay# 310329294762 $350 buy-it-now ~$150 cheaper than Tek probe, not as good though, but maybe good enough. Maybe we should group-buy the Tek probe and share it around. I suspect that we will not often have a situation where more than one builder at a time is at the stage where construction is near completion and he needs to measure stuff. Just a thought. You can also get high voltage probes for your scope, much less expensive than these differential probes. 2,000 volt operating limit, 100x voltage scaling (i.e., 100:1) is under $30, I've seen probes rated to 10 KV, 1000:1 , also, same price range.
  9. Payment sent. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR DOING ALL OF THIS WORK!!!!! Bạn là người đàn ông!
  10. Thanks! I have a bunch of "Bugle Boy" 6DJ8's around here, have to dig those up, not sure how many I have.
  11. Thanks for doing this task! It's good karma. In the next life, perhaps you will be born with hearing that extends to 40 kHz. Glad I was able to get on the list for a set of T2 boards- I heard about this group buy just Sunday, and got in at the last minute. I'm a relative newcomer to Stax stuff, but have been building things since 1969. Back then everything I built had tubes; some transmitters and RF amps had wicked power supplies, up to 3 kV at 500 mA..... And sometimes they even worked..... Now I have to read all of the T2 posts so I can make initial preparations for this build, which I expect will take at least a year if I am to do it properly. It'll take quite a while just to orient myself to the T2 thread so I can understand the collective wisdom of those who have gone down the T2 road before me.... and of course I want to be well familiar with the thread before I go asking any questions.
  12. I'm a latecomer here, but I hope not too late.... Put me down for a set of T2 boards, if it's possible to get them .....
