The price he's charging for some of those tubes on EBay is pretty high considering what type they are

IMO the SP stuff made in last 18mnths or so seems to be less reliable than the earlier stuff. My 2005 made SDS-XLR has had no problems

I fell the same about my amp (if I ever get it). That headband does look pretty poor to me

If you got a crackling sound with that input tube it could just be bad contacts between the tube pins and socket

The German pair appears to be the older as it looks like it has the older type headband

I wonder what price a 'normal' unused pair would fetch?

I have a European version of the Extreme with the out board power supply.It is not designed to run 6528 tubes.

I've decided on the Fuji (with weight) and GT Audio step up transformers

I'm looking to buy a Fuji but the dealer has a Cosmos (nude Airy 3) with 10 hrs on it boxed with headshell silver weight and full guarantee for the same price

I've now installed the Benz.The speed is rock solid (better than the Gyro with QC power supply),build is good.I need to 'run in' the Benz to get a better idea of overall sound

This is still the baby TW Acustic.The Two can take two tonearms and the of course the AC can take three motors as well

I agree it should have been made so that wrong connections were impossible
