  1. ^ Dang! My days have been happily boring lately. The biggest complaint I got is that my 10-year-old modem finally bit the dust today. Realized how stupidly attached I am to my computer. Kinda glad it'll be down for at least another day. Might be time to unplug for a day or two a week.
  2. Sounds like some nice riding today, minus Ian's lack of brakes. Parris, glad your TDC ride went so well. You guys deserve some good weather up North. John, Mike, Raffy and any travel team members, are you signing up for the Tour of Sebring? You should at least book your rooms now even if you're not sure as they'll fill up soon.
  3. Yup. Talked two times so far (second time because I'm a spaz and am nervous, so wanted to double check what we agreed upon). My bike is being painted within the next two weeks or after he returns from his annual camping trip. Either way, I'm looking at between 3-6 weeks, which is all the same to me at this point, and I'm excited. ^ This!!!!! Hope the weather improves for you soon. We've had some majorly crappy weather lately. It's been windy/rainy/stormy, humidity so thick it hurts, and hot every day for the past two or more weeks. Today was the first day in a couple weeks I got some miles in. Was supposed to ride with a ladies group this morning, but only one other person showed up. I'd never met her before, so we rode slowly, mostly gabbing and getting to know each other. She's about my age, was a spinner for 20 years and a runner, so very fit, but she's only been on a road bike for three months. She's getting into triathlons, so doesn't like to ride as long as I do and wants to go faster than I do, but for right now, we're at the same level. At about mile 25, we latched onto a group and had fun at about 18-20 mph, feeling like we weren't even trying. She turned around to go home, but I was having fun, so stayed with the group. At about mile 38, one of those annoying fast groups came up on us, and my group joined in with them. I tried to keep up, and was thrilled to be going about 24 mph for a minute, but got dropped hard after a mile when they kicked it up even more, and sloooowly made my way home by my lonesome in a big fail bonk mode. Stopped at the Boynton Diner for a nice breakfast to soothe my ego. It was nice to get in 47 miles plus breakfast and still be home by 10AM. I need to give the bike a good wash, but have nothing else to do today, so......yay!
  4. Fell asleep before the 2nd OT. Wasn't expecting either of these semi-finals series to end so quickly. Both teams will be coming into the cup play off some nice wins, feeling good. I'm not really sure who I'll be cheering for. I was cheering more against the Penguins and the Kings than I was for either the Bruins or Hawks. Should be some good hockey to watch.
  5. That last second glove save was classic and a perfect closing of the series for Rask.
  6. Purdy. My Kirk will also have a good deal of white happening. Why did you opt for a Serotta over the Peg? Just wanting a change or......?
  7. I'm still blown away that a sweep is looking likely. I never would have thunk this one. The rest of this period should be pretty wild.
  8. I had one-eye open for the both OTs. That was some great hockey. Getting ready for the Blackhawks and Kings, though I might not make it all the way through this one. I'm somehow less interested in this series.
  9. ^ Nice. Al, your dad looks amazing for 91, and you all definitely look like family. Glad you had fun.
  10. The Penguins just seem lost. I'm still shocked they haven't pulled it together.
  11. tt bikes don't count, or, rather, as long as they fulfill the "can have no more than one of a kind or one for every purpose" code of the team.
  12. pigmode, what's with this Serotta Atlanta and posting teaser pics up on paceline, mister I-have-one-bike guy? Uh...at last count you have three...four...a gorgeous Peg, a CAAD10, a Kirk on order (you did go through with the deposit, right?) and now this Serotta. Welcome to Team Minimal! Do post details.
  13. I fell asleep in the 2nd period. Was still too late for me. This morning isn't going to be pretty.
  14. Toasted! If there was going to be a wipeout, I would have predicted the Pens, but Bruins were just great while the Pens were scrambling and failing.
  15. Just lovin' this game! Penguins weren't expecting this. Fun fun fun.
  16. Damb! Bruins kicking it off right. Twenty-eight seconds!
  17. So looking forward to this one. Hoping the Bruins can match their performance of game 1 and amp it up a little. Know that's what the Pens will be doing. This could be a really great game.
  18. ^ Nice pic, Nate. Thanks for the get-well wishes, guys. I'm definitely feeling better. Was talking to a co-worker today, and turns out he had a similar thing about three weeks ago, so.........
  19. No riding this weekend. Had a weird lymph node infection in neck and face. Looked liked i had mumps. Am a bit better today after three days of antibiotics, but am going to take it easy again tomorrow, and see if I can ride on Tuesday.
