  5. Fucking hell. Chris too a number of Adivans before he killed himself. Benzos are a curse on humanity. I have a friend who is an RN who maintains adamantly that the only legitimate use for them is helping alcoholics who are detoxing deal with the DTs.
  6. Damn, dude. I grew up listening to Chris Cornell. What I said on redderp/FB:

  8. Enjoying some regained mobility in my last view days on MV. The weather has bene cold and rainy, but that never bothers anyone of true island stock. I'm going to be driving home on Wednesday. Just in time for this, my trusty Clickwheel iPod decided it was time to give up the ghost for good. It hasn't worked outside of the car for months (the moment I disconnect it from power, it forgets it's and iPod and becomes a paperweight) but it'd come back to life when plugged back in. Now it says "FU, I'm a paperweight" all the time. The iPod is ancient and doesn't owe me anything, but I'm left with fairly miserable options for the ride hope. My Fit has a USB port in the glove box and I can attach a thumb drive to it. My initial tests with that feature left me decidedly underwhelmed (the UI felt like an mp3 player from 15 years ago) but it's better than nothing. When I get back on dry land, I have to find a replacement for my 'Pod. Dock Connector devices have long since gone the way of the Dodo, but I suspect there's an awful lot of legacy infrastructure that still uses it. There must be an aftermarket of refurb'd iPods and the like. There's basically two components that need to be replaced: the HDD and the battery. I'm not adventuresome enough to undertake that on my own, but I'd love to find an outfit that is. #IOnlyPostHereToComplain
  9. In spite of the fact of a crippling back injury and, ahem, that there are two cruisers with their blinkenlights on at the end of the driveway, Test Tone @ Home live right now: http://mixlr.com/illuminator/chat
  10. The Good: I'm on the Vineyard. The Bad: On the second day I was here, I moved two bundles of shingles for my mum. They were ...a lot heavier than I anticipated, and my back objected stridently. I've been basically paralyzed and house bound since Tuesday. Whee fun vacation. The Ugly: It's Friday, and thanks to the Information Age (and lugging a large rotary fader DJ mixer with me), I'm set to do my radio show from a remote location. Problem is, it hurts like hell to sit in one spot for too long (it also hurts to stand up, to move, etc, but I digress.) I'm not really looking forward to this.

  12. Oh, SNAP. Koneveljet are a collective of rather brilliant and batshit insane Finns who make kooky, off kilter electronic music that wanders around from techno to breakbeat to ambient. They haven't put out a proper album in 12 years, but were apparently performing live as recently as two years ago. Apparently they leaked most of their unreleased album on YouTube.
