  1. While on vacation I went to opening night for the Atlanta Symphony. They had violinist Midori as a special guest. She performed Beethoven's Violin Concerto and was amazing to watch. The second half of the show was Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony. They did an outstanding performance. It was the first time my wife had been to a symphony show and she loved it. She could not keep her eyes of Midori during her performance. Best live show I have seen in years.

  2. Haha I looked at that and I knew it was taken with a Rebel or and older DSLR. Something with like a 97% viewfinder.

If you were talking about my photo you would be right. I used a Canon T3i with a 24-105L lens. I rented the lens for the trip and will be buying one sometime later this year. I took a lot of pictures on this trip. I am still learning to use all the camera settings. I would take the same shot over and over using different settings just to see what they did. By the end I had gotten to where I could use the full manual mode as long as I had plenty of time to take the shot. I want to get good enough to justify buying a 5d in a year or so.

We will hit 11 years on the 27th of this month. We met online and neither of of wanted anything serious just someone to hang out with. One and a half years later we were married. It has had its ups and downs but we are always there for each other. She is my best friend and I could not ask for a better one. We get each others twisted sense of humor and almost always laugh at the exact same time when something is funny. We have even made the exact same comment at the exact same time about things. Our friends say it is sickening to see us together because we act like a couple of high school kids in love. That is the way I always want it to be.

  4. I rented a Canon 24-105 f4L lens for my vacation to try it out. I had it yesterday at my brothers house and since it was raining I just shot inside mostly. I must say I do not think that any of the pictures were bad. I was just shooting candid shots of him and his wife and kids and almost every shot looked great even with no post work at all. I may have to save up and buy one of these lenses now. I will be in the mountains next week and plan a visit to Biltmore Estate. Hoping to get some good architectural shots of the house and gardens.

  5. Can anyone suggest a good camera shop in the DC or Atlanta area? I'm going to be on vacation in both places in the coming weeks and would like to try out a couple of different lenses, macro and tele, before I commit to buying. I would like to be able to put the lens on the camera and see if I like the way it works before I buy. I'm still trying to learn all the lens lingo so am really unsure what I am looking at online. I've got a Canon T3i if it matters.

  6. My boards showed up today. These things are freaking huge. I like it!!!!

I opened the package at my wife's office and her first comment was "That looks like it is going to cost a lot to put all the parts on it." My reply was "Yes, it will." I already told her I want some 009's for my birthday(40th) next year. I may have it done by then.

I plan to buy the parts for this in small doses. That way I don't see what I really spend on it.

  7. Justin,

I would imagine that my only needing 8 of the 2sk216 and 4 of 2 sj79 would not be very practical on your end unless you have another use for them or could sell them on your site. I'm always looking for a better price for these things but there seems to be nothing cheap about this amp which is fine with me.

Next up is coming up with a suitable enclosure that looks really good. I would love to have gotten one of the originals that KG did but that's not going to happen.
