  1. Of course. Counterquestion: Do you regularly post about gear you haven't auditioned?
  2. Absolutely. Do you feel better now?
  3. RichterDi owns an Opera with high gain and he does indeed utilize it for his K1000s.I don't know if Jan Meier would do a high gain version for everyone but he did it for RichterDi on request.
  4. My SRM-313 (from what I've heard similar to the SRM-252 but with a built-in power supply) isn't more detailed than my slightly modded SRD7Pro/CEC Amp 3300 and overall I prefer vastly the SRD/speaker amp combo. May I ask what speaker amp you are utilizing?
  5. I've sniped a SRD 7SB Mk II this evening. I've wanted a spare SRD for modding purposes (just in case I wreck one in a modding attempt), and here it is. Wasn't exactly cheap though. Indeed more than $200. Feck, the SRD 7 Pro I've purchased less than a year ago did cost less than $100.
  6. What contribution?
  7. Yes, many german goods are less expensive in the US.Often the price difference is huge. Ultrasone Edition 9 for instance (lowest prices I've seen): US: ~$1100 Germany : ~$2100
  8. Believe it or not I do sometimes import german headphones (and other german goods) from the US.
  9. Thanks for letting me learn something ....
  10. Maybe it was defective. I did have so many of these units over the years and when I think about it the SB unit wasn't even a SRD 7.It was a SRD 6.Since then I had avoided the SB types, maybe for wrong reasons, but later I have read about loudness fluctuations in combination with SB units happening to other owners, too. Do you know why Stax had decided to sell non-SB units? There must be a technical reason since the SB types are cheaper to produce.
  11. I've once had a SRD-7 SB and I guess they are similar in that regard to the Pro varieties. When you listen to music that unlike modern overly compressed pop music does actually contain decent dynamic range you get audible loudness fluctuations with the SB types.
  12. You are looking for the SRD7 Pro or SRD 7 MkII.The latter provides either "Pro" and the older six pin "Normal" bias jacks. There are also the socalled SB variants.SB means self biased and is inferior IMO. You probably won't get the Stax Pro transformer boxes for cheap nowadays anymore.$200 is quite normal nowadays.
  13. Are these rebranded Stax SR-X? In any case, a bit expensive but not extreme by european standards.I've seen worse.
  14. Finally an opinion I can easily agree with.
  15. I've just looked and in fact he is again posting there. He was a mod there once and vanished a few months ago without notice. Oh, and I do like either Rick and Mike regardless of oversized ego respectively odd behaviour under the influence.
  16. A tourette syndrom doesn't qualify for a ban here, that's for sure.
  17. Really? Where? Last time I've met him on a forum is months ago.
  18. I don't think so. Me running into a long term member with thousands of posts and a mile long feedback thread without remembering having heard of him before is either a sign of Alzheimer or just different preferences in this hobby.
  19. Exactly my thought .......
  20. Rick isn't banned, but probably dead.
  21. Personally I'm not affected at all. In fact some of the nasty cable discussion threads I was involved in being wiped out isn't that bad. My condolences though to those with business dependent on head-fi as a working market place.
