  1. I tried a bunch of different browsers, but nothing worked. I also looked for a way to hide them, but no luck.
  2. Can you share any links? Where did you get them?
  3. True, I would do independent filament PS for each 300B, probably with LDO. Ad the rest of circuit invisible from bottom - I guess the main HV PS is hidden under cover from top side. There is too much space there only for transformer.
  4. For me it is DC heating, look at wires at left bottom 300B, wires come from PCB with capacitors and some silicon under it.
  5. Hahaha, ok, now itโ€™s clear, apparently my neurons decided to slack off for a bit
  6. Are you talking about yours earspeakers? Any details, what happened?
  7. Ofc such metal piece cannot be placed inside driver, only outside of stator, your right.
  8. My mistake - that green/yellow PCB part I mentioned is from the other side of driver (facing outside). So no changes here probably. Back to stators - I was wondering about covering it partially with some thin sheet of metal, to make more compression inside drivers (similar to drivers from 007). That would change tonality, but in which direction ...๐Ÿค”
  9. Nice work, thanks for sharing. You report more bass and little different tonality that made them more enyoable for you. In summary the most important parts of this project: 1. Internal dimensions and stators are unchanged. 2. Protecting membranes are changed. 3. Diaphragms are new. 4. Green PCB changed to your own black PCB with higher distance for earpads's lips. Is it correct? I cannot find if you sealed them in any special way more than they were? If so, I guess that tension of new diaphragrams and dust covers are responsible for more bass.
  10. And this is the way i tried to do that - it worked and is still working. Thanks!
  11. Hi, The time has come for my broken SRA-3S, unfortunately I donโ€™t like what I have found inside there Any idea if this kind of slot is for sale nowadays anywhere?
  12. New rings/spacer for new diaphragm, thicker rings for dust covers suggests that new mylar will be also used - that should give different results in tonality, very interesting project. Maybe your experiment will push me to mod mine 009. As for the hole in the stators, its purpose has me curious as well. I do not remember if I ever asked your here for this - can you share what you are using for coatings? Licron?
  13. True, any modifications you make there won't allow you to predict results on genuine drivers. But Iโ€™ll still be interested in your work.
  14. Ah, ok, so mods for cables. I was wondering if you found a way to trim tonality of drivers a little.
  15. I would like to see your ideas about fixing SR-009 drivers. Are you going to use some 3D printed parts?
  16. I was hopping that the latest version will be a lot better than the old I still have ... and not using. Now my hope was killed by Spritzer, thanks!
  17. But what about humidity? It doesn't seems to be immune for it.
  18. Can you share a little more details? Any picture what you are using, how much of it?
  19. I tested the first series of SR-4070 headphones and couldn't quite understand Stax's testing approach. The fit was extremely challenging, which made them seem not ready for commercial release. In contrast, the SR-4070 Mk2 models were a noticeable improvement.
  20. Maybe they designed it that way from the very beginning, thinking people would figure it out on their own. And then, after many years, they suddenly realized that no one actually knew why they made the earcups rotate.
  21. The tube 6E5P in triode connection has Ka c.a 50 - I know because I tried it. So probably yes, it is not enough for 300B, when you consider even low NFB. And this tube has a really huge microphonic problems, every single one - not useable in audio first stage amplification, in my opinion ofc.
  22. What about any photos instead of tons of text?
  23. I have broken SRA-3s too, it is still waiting for my time. What about creating independent topic for this amp for discussion?
  24. Pirx replied to bralk's topic in Headphones
Does 009 have the same metal core in plastic?
  25. Omron relays you are talking about are small ones designed for small signals, small voltages, small currents. They are there for many reasons but protection delicate electrostatic drivers from overloading ...
