Could one be completely happy with just the RS-1 and AD2000?

I was listening to Wish You Were Here the other day and I swear, Gilmour was in the wall playing and singing to me. I had to get my roommate in my seat and he said "creepy, it's like your own personal concert." This setup isn't even expensive or acoustically well set up. And then I realized that there is no avoiding getting a speaker rig when I settle.

I think Cavalry comes with WD drives inside.

In my experience it's been the permanent resident FOTM at Head-Case. What APS are you referring to, because I have no idea which one you're talking about. I was talking about APureSound, who sold it as if someone was waiting for this thread to happen, or something.

ALO also changes the internals a bit, I think dampening material? Not sure, but it's not just a recable. But then again if you're not a doofus you should be able to do the mods on your own. Like the markl mod. Maybe the modded HFI-780 can become the world's second finest dynamic headphone with enough Dynamat.

Wow Elephas, that was incredible. Above and beyond. And I'm with deepak on my HD580; I'm going to try balanced out of my VDA-2 soon but single ended, meh. If I listen to primarily rock (all flavors) am I going to be happier with an RS-1? The AD2000 seems like a good all-rounder too. Or maybe I should just get both.

If I were to get the AD2000 it'd be around $450 in Japan. The K601 was just kind of going off the "enhanced K501" review I'd seen someplace, not really price-wise (around $200-250 used/new?).

Thanks for all the impressions; they're really helpful. Just wondering aerius, do you use the RS-1 with bowls or flats? I've been pretty interested in the SA5000 and a lot of that was due to the looks, but after seeing all this it looks like I'd be best off sticking to the RS-1 and/or the AD2000. My MS-2 hurts after a few hours because of my glasses, but I'm probably going to get new ones this summer and I'll be on the lookout for thinner arms.

These models currently interest me for a future purchase, especially the MS-Pro. If anyone has anything to say about these, input is appreciated. Bonus points if you reference the HD580/600, K501, or MS-2.

I asked my roommate to get lighter fluid and he bought me butane charcoal lighter fluid, but it worked
