just wondering if this is what you meant
on the original Aristaeus transformers, Plitron made them with no insulation between secondaries. they all shorted after a few days. their engineer said they should have been fine because the enamel on the wire is rated for 800V They all had to be sent back to be stripped down
exhausted. rented a cargo van to pick up BHSE powdercoated parts. they were easily loaded with a forklift, but since i do not have that or the proper door, i unloaded the 1500lb of it by hand. then played soccer for two hours. trying to laser engrave tonight
you could have the cap leads pierce the tape, but then you're not going to get solder flow to the top side of the PCB. most people probably are not skilled enough solderers for that anyway. but ideally you'd want to remove the centers for that to work
just search for kapton discs. these particular ones came from www.caplugs.com
and if you want to spend a fortune you can get custom die cut tape
they are pretty easy. it's a 3.5 mile oval loop that you can run either direction, with several connecting trails that cut across. there is also an "advanced" mountain bike trail attached but i'm not quite sure what's advanced about it other than hikers and horses are not allowed on it.
