Anyone reading this thread from NYC? Is that new calorie posting law effective at all these days in changing what and how much you eat when you eat out?
Chains like Outback and TGI Fridays arent happy about it because their most popular entrees have like 2,000 calories

I do. I then usually write them a email asking for any research or white papers they may have on the nonsense they are spouting. So far nothing.
Oh, you're forgetting that university research that Virtual Dynamics did! You know, the one where the "researchers" couldn't figure out why they couldn't do a 10khz square wave with a computer sound card.
-
They're quite a bit cheapear than ER-4P, so it would be nice if they're the same thing
-
I must not be paying attention because this is the first I've heard of these
Etymotic Research, Inc. - hf5? Earphones
Anyone heard these?

ah, so that's what hell looks like

Yeah Stereophile wouldn't do a formal review of most of the amps that are popular on Head-Fi due to their 5-dealer rule - RSA, HeadAmp, Eddie Current, Singlepower, Meier Audio, even those dinky Chinese brands like Little Dot and DarkVoice.
But that still leaves a nice chunk of headphone amps that they could review from the likes of: Creek, EAR Yoshino, Grado, Musical Fidelity, Naim, Pro-Ject, PS Audio, Rega, even Stax. Why Stereophile doesn't review those companies' headphone amps is a mystery...
I think you qualify as a HeadAmp dealer by now

Actually, the KGSS specification also says that the SNR is "inaudible."
Of course, inaudible is not really the same as not measurable.
Unless you own some very expensive test equipment, easiest way to test SNR is to just plug in a super sensitive pair of IEMs and listen for hiss/hum. If nothing can be heard, you have a very, very good SNR.

The RPX-100 has a capacitor coupled output and changing the load impedance will therefor have a large impact.
it would also be a large impact if the amplifier has a high output impedance
-
the 1/4" outputs are in parallel and connected to the + phase

neutrik profis have the turtleneck

If all you were doing is guessing if the tube is cryo or non-cryo, 6 to 8 trial isn't nearly enough. What if every trial was actually the same tube? How would you have done then?

Thats all you got, wheres the impressions:D
If there were a UE10.5, Id go with that. I don't know which one I liked better. It's hard to know because the universals dont fit my ears with any of the tips and have to be held in place. I don't think I can know without trying custom fits of both

gpalmer has/had the original gilmore reference
this was a custom pre-amp version for emelius with 24-step gain switches. the contents of the 2 box reference are the same
-
No, I did a Mac OS X spotlight search for "gilmore reference black gates spain" and this is the only one. What kind of technical data? It is a balanced version of this amplifier HeadWize - Project: A Pure Class A Dynamic Headphone Amplifier by Kevin Gilmore with 1 of the power supplies for each channel. GoldPoint stepped attenuators and 2200uf FK? black gate capacitors, vampire silver wiring in the signal path
-
The standard Gilmore Reference was a 1 box amp that looked like the KGSS
It was $2559 and made in Spring 2005

Bingo. Shitty discrete design is still a shitty design. There is nothing inherently wrong with opamps. It's the same shit as (an equivalent) discrete design, but packed into one IC.
Not always, I know KG's designs could not be made into op-amps
-
-
Heh. Seems like many others out there, under the same logic, could have "8 channel" amps.
If I am interpreting this correctly then the GS-X is an 8 channel amp, so is balanced b22 and dynamite

Just got back from watching Bolt run the 100m in 9.69 seconds. Everybody in the stadium went absolutely nuts!

Do the upper end EAR phono stages have subsonic filters?
They are tubed, right? Then there are probably coupling capacitors that won't pass subsonic frequencies

YouTube video clips that are made by pointing a camera at a TV
The penalty for posting these should be castration

This is probably the time to order UE10/11 if you're the least bit interested...
Does anyone here know how to make custom boxes?

Uh, you're going to have to be more specific
