  1. Forgot to mention that lead time is about 4-5 weeks. Including the prototype this makes it 7-9 weeks. I checked with Context Engineering as well and they quote a lead time of about 6-9 weeks. So this seems pretty standard. The TKD group buy I did had a 2 month lead time. While waiting for the prototype we can work on the typesetting a bit more. I went through all my fonts and here are some samples I think work the best. typesetting_samples.pdf The Hiragano/Silom combination is the closest I could get to John McLean's design. I put up a bunch of variations as well. I'm open to suggestions. Since this is my weak point I'm fine if someone decides send me their own designs as well.
  2. There seems to a similar part (MMBTA56LT) that isn't EOL and seems like a direct substitute. Need to check the datasheet for compatibility though.
  3. Sounds like a transistor matching issue. What's the offset without the opamp? also you might want to try the ubal board without a buffer and see if it makes a difference. If you have an amp with 50k input impedance then it might not be a major issue.
  4. Thanks everyone for your payments. Seems like nearly everyone has paid so I can go ahead and order when the prototype comes back. I had to adjust a few dimensions because the capacitors on the bottom only had 1mm of clearance which was cutting it a bit close. I'll try to update drawings soon.
  5. I managed to get it soldered with reflow oven and smd rework station. It wasn't really so bad as long as the right amount of solder is used (less is better). Though it could be easier. I agree that if the board was designed for 1oz that it should stay 1 oz. Considering how hot the transistors get, I do think the extra copper helps with heat dissipation. but there's probably much better ways to implement that. Why do STAX boards need higher copper weight considering that electrostatic headphones are low current?
  6. I'll check for you. The corner screws are countersunk. I'm trying not to have a bunch of different versions because it could affect volume pricing. Not at all. As long as payment is before I submit the order then it's all good.
  7. Just in case anyone missed it, I wanted to mention that I'm running a group buy on enclosures for the Dynalo Mini https://www.head-case.org/forums/topic/13242-dynalo-mini-enclosure-group-buy/
  8. We're at 35 enclosures now so I've added ~$3 to each enclosure to pay for a prototype. Don't want to risk having 35 useless enclosures. With that we can start payment. Please send the amount in the remainder column of the spreadsheet to my paypal address at . Send as friend or try to include fees. Include your head-case ID so I know who you are. I'll leave payments open for two weeks before I start submitting final orders. If I get everyone's money early then I'll start the order process sooner. Also know if you've dealt with me before that I am no longer in France so shipping will be from the USA this time. This shouldn't really matter to most of you. At the end of two weeks if I still don't have your payment I'll send a DM to bother you. I will order the prototype enclosure ASAP so that we aren't delayed. Any excess that you pay me will go towards shipping and unforeseen fees. If there is still some leftover I'll pay you back what's left. Yep, still anodized after machining. The front and rear panel are near final for the cutouts. The Neutrik screws won't work with countersinking so they are just straight through holes. Might still countersink the screw for the RCA jack. The top and bottom panels have the vents overlapping with the sides so I'll need to adjust those a bit, but isn't that crucial since no components are getting mounted there.
  9. Okay guys, about to start requesting payments. Before I do though i wanted to see if you guys were okay with a prototype enclosure to make sure everything fits? It will be a single order unanodized case and it would add $3 to the price of everyone's enclosure, plus I'll make this prototype case available for ~$50. Yes unless i get a significant number of people that want one other color
  10. There's a few details I wanted to finalize on my drawings first. However I won't be able to order until I have everyone's money which can take a little bit of time. I'll post soon with payment info.
  11. The tube ubal/bal boards are 2 x amp boards + 1 x power supply board? Also KG had two versions, the tube mounted on the same side as the components and megatron-style where you can mount the PCB on the top plate so the tubes can stick out the top. If there's a vote I prefer megatron-style.
  12. Short answer because I'm in the middle of a trip but no sooner then the 20th. I might tie the date with the PCB group buy so everyone has an opportunity to buy an enclosure
  13. And that puts us over 25. Price is now $8 cheaper
  14. Be sure to use kapton tape to protect the Meanwell before doing rework. The plastic case on mine melted a little when I was removing LEDs.
  15. I think Vf is close to the same. I measure 1.68V with mine
  16. Since you are using different input transistors I would think that has an effect. Are you using 422 ohms for the CCS? Should that be reduced back to 402 like it was originally?
  17. I did the same thing for adjustment and it works well. I was able to get it within 3-5mV and the servos drop that <1mV. I see discrete transistors instead of a that340. Nice
  18. The screws for the bottom panel also do double duty for attaching rubber supports. Holes were not included in my drawings because I dont know where they are located yet. Using the IEC screws sounds like the best way though as you mentioned. So no additional modifications to the rear panels for now.
  19. @Kerry - Do you know what kind of screw the RCA uses? Also do I need to add an additional hole for chassis ground?
  20. An LXMini system has been on my list for awhile. Recently Nelson Pass made an ASP for it which should be available on diyaudio eventually. If you do get around to auditioning this ask Linkwitz if you can hear the ASP version to compare.
  21. I asked Kerry once on the Dynalo thread what thickness was required for the panels and he said 0.1" (2.54mm). I believe the XLRs go up to 2.7mm panel thickness. I'd prefer 0.1" but I have no problem with 0.09".
  22. Panel thickness is 0.09" or close to 2.25mm. Corner screws are counter-sunk by default but not indicated in my drawing. I thought about doing a blind hole for the potentiometer, but it seems unnecessary with 2mm panels.
  23. $50 isnt that bad. I think they were $40 when I got them directly from TKD. Is there a minimum order?
