You probably nailed it Jacob. If they chose someone that quickly, they likely had them in mind already. Sorry to hear it, though!
Thanks man. I can't be too irritated: I've been on the other side of the situation.

I'm pretty disappointed, but it is what it is.

Didn't get the job. I was brought in last week for a first in-person interview, and they hired somebody yesterday, so I'd say that they already had somebody chosen, and were just wasting everybody's (theirs and mine) time due to organizational rules. This would have been an exceptional fit, and I honestly thought the phone call was going to be setting up an interview for the next round.

Strangest thing. After spending thirty minutes screwing around and resetting to factory settings and then posting, the screen clicked and is back to a beautiful picture. Wishes do come true.
I told you that it was probably reparable.

Well, it's not a good sign. It's probably reparable.

5600 hours/16 hours per day ~ 350 days. The E6 came out around this time last year so it was likely in that spot on their wall since then.
The point was that their demo system is impressively ill suited to the job.

Damn. That's almost impressive!

The LG E6 purchase did not go as planned. While a great deal, it was on a floor model and when we brought it home, it had some really nasty burn in/image retention. Went back to Best Buy and spoke with the manager who very kindly offered a heavy discount on a new in box B7. Just set it up and it is quite nice Happy again.
An hour of random pattern would probably have cleared up the image retention, but I believe the B7 is an upgrade, so fist-bump.

Happy birthday, Tom!

Or really well done.
Well hell, 180 degrees will do that, if you leave it on long enough.

Wow! I can only imagine what type of meat you will be grilling at that temp. Bordeaux would seem to be the obvious choice when grilling at the temperature of hell.
That would be a good temp for anything you want to cook rare.

Eneloops are cheap...
But free is cheaper!

overlooked in favor of the "free power" BS. Don't get me started on supercaps either...
Wait, batteries are free? Why have I been spending money on Eneloops?!

BTW, the stew was worse than I remembered. Had frozen yogurt on hand. Foresight: It's a wonderful thing!
I'm assuming it wasn't kitchen bouquet flavored frozen yogurt.

That is a bit steep, but it is a nice looking addition.

It's made like the seatbelt for an S-class, but on a smaller scale.

The Speedy's are just plain sexxxxxy. I've been threatening to get one with a leather band for dog's years.

The Omega leather straps are very nice. When I bought this NATO, I really had to convince myself to spend the money (I paid $192 with tax and shipping, MSRP is $280, which sounds crazy for a NATO strap, right?). I couldn't be more pleased. It's at least 10 times better than the NATO straps I own that cost 1/10th as much.

Never! Plants are full of toxins dude. It's a miracle you aren't dead.I am dead: only a ghost would suggest you put vegetables on a grill, after all.

I did. Initial impressions are favorable. Next steps: ribs -> pulled pork -> brisket.Put some veggies on that grill for me, Stretch.

I'm sure he does Grahame. But when you break it all down, he's still just another guy playing with his meat.
Aren't we all?

Digital volume controls usually sound like a bag of hammers, at least in the past. But technology moves on and maybe this unit makes a better fist of it. But with my old Logitech Transporter I have the default set to 100% and use an LDR passive pre from Tortuga Audio to select input source and do the volume thing.
All that said, would I like a DAC1541? Yup, without question.
It really depends on the implementation, these days, I'd say. johnwmclean mentions the NAD M51, which has the same volume control as the NAD M2, and the NAD M2 is brilliant sounding.

Changed the rear brake pads on my car. Very brake dust, much grime, and getting the caliper pistons twisted all the way back in without the proper tool sucked.
You could probably have rented the tool at AutoZone inexpensively.

I tried to make my own curry powder with random spices Cumin, Coriander, Tumeric, Ginger, Garlic, Cardamom, and cayenne pepper and tried to make my own half assed coconut milk with coconut water and heavy cream. It was not terrible.

Made a whatever I could find in the pantry curry.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkDid you use a curry base, or did you make it from scratch? This is very similar to things I make, during the week. If you had told my 26 year-old self that 36 year old Jacob would use curry base, he's have scowled. 26 year-old Jacob was pretty dumb.
And now what did you do TODAY?
