  1. being british 'McCain-Palin` got me thinking how Michael Palin considers McCain oven chips. ;D

Proving to me that that TV is good for advertising foods and for broadcasting travel series :)

Oh dear. McCain oven chips. You had to remind me, didn't you. Now I have to show everyone else.

    Never mind the micro chips

This is what they are up to now. McCain - It's all good

With the advent of Sarah Palin, John Cleese no longer considers Michael Palin the funniest Palin.

  2. Glad to hear you are all right, Al. On a related note, this morning, our office was under the flight path of a(n) S-64 Skycrane engaged in firefighting on, we assume, Angel Island. It made several passes, re-watering, we assume, from the freshwater in Corte Madera creek. The discussion here assumed that they wanted to use freshwater, rather than saltwater from the bay, so as not to disrupt the ecosystem on Angel Island.

The skycrane is an impressive beast

  3. Grahame, how was Duffy? I wanted to see her. I love her but she really sucked on a recent SNL show.

    Cute and Welsh ;)

Sound at the concert was pretty good, and she can certainly belt them out, when she wants to. Joanne enjoyed it, and it was a good end to a very pleasant afternoon. If you have Rockferry, you were there, except for the addition of

duffyrainonyourparadexx8.jpg which she informed us is getting UK radio play.

    see what you think.

  4. Why not just end the debate,

and use a software tone generator, say like ►►Test Tone Generator Software for Windows / Function and White Pink Noise Generator

and generate tones of the exact frequency you desire, or a series so you can find the threshold of interest.

Or, in case your computer hardware is the limiting factor, get a real hardware tone generator, for some real "old school" analog sine waves. You must know some one with access to physics / electronic test gear?

Failing that, do you have a Theremin handy?

  5. I will post some more pics in show us your gears thread, here is the HeadRoom Audiophile Desktop in most of its glory. Still need some bi-amp speaker cables and an IC from VVA, but it is in place with temporary cables and making me happy as I type.

But surely, the Harbeth logo should be on the outer edge, not the inner edge, of the monitors, if you want to widen the soundstage? ;)

Seriously, Sweeeeet rig. And you still get billable work done? :)
