  1. It wears big, very big, because of its height. Other watches of the same diameter wear much smaller, not unrelated the pearl only lasted 6 months before I knocked it of reaching into a drawer. It is also very heavy, you will never forget that you have it on.

Honestly I've had it about 5 years, on reflection the normal sea dweller or a no date sub is a smarter purchase.

  2. Found a fun new trail. It's a bunch of small 1m to 1.5m waterfalls before a pretty large one. Middle of summer means great traction on the rocks otherwise I would have run out of skill. One of the hardest trails I've ridden because of its relentless physicality, summer heat and very little shade.

  3. No if I did a speedy it would be the standard moon watch on a bracelet. A friend just got the dark side of the moon. It's a really nice piece, but ceramics are just not my thing.

What I am currently waffling about either the jlc reverso 1931 or a rose gold and diamond omega constellation to match the one I got my wife.

I would buy the 1931 in a second if it was SS which in principal I think all reverso should be..

Wife keeps bitching she needs to know what to get me for our anniversary so I'll have to work that out.

  4. I love JLC, who else will give you a perpetual calendar for less than 20k! And their ultra thin line!

I am so tempted by the reverso 1931, I just do not want it in gold. I am not good a babying things.

Also philosophically I feel a reverso should be in SS and have nothing on the other side.

  5. Imo they are equivalent. At least between the oyster and constellation. Seamaster/speed master  can be found on a few different styles. I haven't worn all of them so I won't comment.

Old style holes case oyster bracelets are worse but only right at the clasp. They also start to pull hair when they loosen up. But if I had a holes case I'd replace it with a leather strap.

  6. Unlike every other swatch brand, glassutte does everything themselves. No off the shelf or modified eta movements, not that there is anything wrong with eta movements they were tanks and measure very well. I'm not paying 10k for a watch with one though.

  7. Here is another option but it is a bit off the reservation

Glashutte Original Watches - Art and Technik PanoReserve - Style No: 65-01-23-12-24

    Glasshutte Original Pano Reserve.

Options include white dial and they do a strap in addition to the bracelet.

Oh and the rolex explorer, similar look to the oyster perpetual but with some arabic numerals.

  8. An omega constellation coaxial is another good option. My wife can't wear a full size so I got her the mid size. She also has a mid size rules datejust, you can't go wrong with either.

  9. Yes, it's unfortunate that a known high quality amplifier was not used. It looks like lot of time and effort was put into the review, but with the amps being either unknown, stax, or king sound I'm not sure the conclusions and comparisons can be relied on.

The front end of the system is also not mentioned, or I just missed it while scanning the review.
