I went off to the wood shop to try another finish (my nemesis) and decided that spray on lacquer would possibly be nice. So after getting a couple of bits of nice exotic woods and sanding stuff I picked up a tin and headed off home. I finished sanding my latest bit of wood, shook the can vigorously for two minutes and then gave it a good spraying.... it was thick, goopy, blotchy and generally looked like crap. I examined the tin more closely and realized I picked up the water based acrylic shit next to the lacquer... Waited until it was dry and then sanded it all off again.

In the not too distant future I'll be trying mine with a Cavalli EHHA hybrid I'm going to build so that should be interesting.

When Marshall checks for a fault in the left channel, he like to eliminate all other possibilities. I think he's narrowed it down by this stage and is close to an answer

Yep, just a block of rock maple drilled through to match the driver size and sawed into a pair of wedges.

I did my own version which was less radical and reversible, worked pretty well too.
