Interestingly when I was on the phone with Zu today and asked if they made adapters, he responded to pick up a Neutrik coupler and when prompted with the question "will it have a detrimental effect on the Mobius sound" responded "no".
Also of note, as opposed to Stefan AudioArts up to 2 1/2 month turn around, Zus retermination is a two days wait.
That sounds better and much more reasonable... sounds like Stefan might be a side job and Zu is obviously a full time company.

I loved the Balanced Equinox. I also had a while using Myo's personal balanced GFT which isn't going to be sold, and that was a different but almost equally enjoyable presentation.
I asy Stefan AudioArt all the way!
I dont get why he is sending it around for comments/reviews when he has "no intention on selling it" ... makes no sense to me.

Each with their owns strengths I imagine... did any of them stand out?
Personally the "High-end" portable bit does not make much sense to me. That said I would never look past a portaphile or sm or possibly a ae-1 for its connectivity options.
-
IMHO adapters do change the sound so i am trying to avoid them in my rig. not that i have money for a balanced gs-x right now...
Perhaps they do but not necessarily for the worse
That is why I am curious as to how the bling adapters sound
-
Have you heard both Grand Enigma?
Yes I have although I forget what version it was. I have heard/had Portaphile v1/v2, PRII, Hornet, SR71, SM, and a few others I dont care to think about right now.

It is nice to have the option to tweek the sound to just how you want it. was i in to the portable thing Ide go with one... and to be honest... the SM is not any worse then the bumblebee

thanks thomas jefferson. I wasn't sure until now what freedom of speech is, but that just about clears it up.
What still isnt clear Maybe the ebony got to your head?

lets get together a team headcase group and invade the national meet. We can be disruptive and cause a scene.
we can wear shirts that say FUCK HEADFI and then a list of swear words.
Who wants to solicit outside with headcase flyers... we will deviate them to our own meet down the block. wait that might be stealing the resources.
Just a quick aside... the freedom to speak your mind does not simply mean swear all you want.... I suppose if that is all your mind is and ever thinks about then it is ok but the intent it is that you should not feel oppressed or that you can not say what you want to out of fear.

HeadRoom made the first commercially available balanced headphone amp (or so they say). they for some reason decided to go with dual 3-pin female XLR outputs, which has now become the de facto standard of sorts.
I am rebelling... 4Pin XLRs for me and my amps

I can't stand the politics of this site anymore either. I can't sand the nazi admin reks who finds the need to create entire new forums to make stupid pointless posts in. I QUIT!!!

I've never had a problem telling people what I use in my cables and will always gladly do so. I do sell cables but only to those who do not have the means to make their own. If you can that is great and I hope they do so.

fast comparo ?
Said GCHA has about $500 worth of mods to it and sounded very nice when I heard it at the Ohio meet a few weeks ago... One of the better single ended SS amps I have heard in a while dispite its very simple design.

i think they are pretty good, and great in the under $50 market, but i don't think they are the giant killers that many people claim.
See above post... they are are giant killers... I like them better then Grados and Sonys and ATHs

These are so worth it

That would require that the single-ended cable actually had wires inside for balanced operation, which wouldn't make much sense for a single-ended cable in the first place.
However, the stock Senn replacement cables do have the needed wiring making a balanced retermination job possible.
The nature of the dual entry on the Senns requires all Senn ables to have four wires. So you could reterminate any of those to XLR. I think toddy has a nice silver aloy Senn cable which might be worth checking out...its even balanced

I say save your money... because money's always good. I seem to be in the minority though.
but money is worthless if you dont plan on spending it

I was just curious as I did not understand why he was doing so... I must say I think it is pretty funny that he really has not auditioned any other cable but his own... I think I have tried just about everything out there whithin reason before construction my cables so I had a good baseline and know how to inform people with cabling options as well as offering insight and suggestions. Anway, I believe he has a Balanced Home now ... that was your doing wasnt it
