I was waiting for this one, one of my absolute favourites, thanks to @thrice. Did Rudy do Birth of the Cool? That's another of my favourites.

Happy birthday, Todd!

RIPeeWee. 😢 That makes me sad. Will the eulogies and memorials all say he was a comic genius who got a raw deal, a la Sinéad?
Gosh, I hope so. The way he handled That Incident, "know any good jokes?" -- he just owned it and took his lumps, instead of whining and trying to PR one's way out of it like everyone else. And he had such a unique vision of how to tell his stories. It seemed more important not to taint that legacy than anything else to him.
RIP Pee-Wee Herman/Paul Reubens. Another good one lost. 😭

Damn, I miss your cooking.
And I don't think I've ever had your cooking, but your pictures make me feel like I have.

You know, all the attention was on the Utopia, Utopia Be, Mini Utopia, and Grand Utopias, but there was a nice little 3-way (tweeter/mid/woofer) which I don't remember that was only a couple of thou that I almost bought (back when I headily thought I could keep up with the Joneses, so to speak). Anyone know what I am talking about? It might have been the Alto Utopia.

Ended up being overnight, so...18 hours? I read somewhere that you don't want to marinate for more than 24, but I'm going to shoot for 12 next time, it was already starting to turn mooshy.
And even with all that yogurt, the ghoulash still turned out ridonkeylously spicy.

Marinating some chicken in yogurt as we speak (minimum 8 hours) -- not sure what for...oh, who am I kidding, I'm making my ghoulash again.

Chelsea Wolfe, Abyss (no relation)
Trying to decide on my vote for the best album of from 2010 January 1 to 2019 December 31, and Abyss came up as a choice, and I did listen to it quite obsessively when I discovered it. Listening to it now, it's definitely a contender.
ExSample:
List so far is:
Matt Elliott, The Broken Man
Max Richter, Sleep
Kyros, Vox Humana
Al1ce, The 13th Hour
Big Big Train, English Electric
David Bowie, Blackstar
Hiromi, not even sure which one -- Voice, Move, Alive, Spark, Spectrum...
Fiona Apple, The Idler Wheel...
Nick Cave, The Skeleton Key or Push the Sky Away
Oneohtrix Point Never, Replica, R Plus Seven,
tricot, T H E,
Slowdive, Slowdive
Leonard Cohen, You Want It DarkerAlbums I need to look into:
Daughters, Alvvays, The Caretaker, Destroyer, Clarence Clarity, Lamp (more), Beach House,
And what the fuck is "slushiewave" -- music inspired by brainfreezes?- 2

That's a pretty girthy, gravity-defying, fuck-me-sideways snake, Grəm.

I have exactly one neighbor. His name is Gary. He's a genuine boomer, turning 70 this year. He is some kind of special needs. In his day, on Marthas Vineyard, there wasn't much in the way of diagnosis so he just kind of got by. He lived with his mother until she passed on my birthday this year at the age of 93(!) Now Gary lives alone, and I live here on MV. Gary does okay, but my (sainted, octogenarian) mother does have some worries about him. He mentioned to her that his electric bill was over $200 this month. She said to me "you have an awful lot of spare LED bulbs, you should see if Gary would let us replace some of his incandescents."
She wasn't wrong. For reasons not entirely worth explaining, I have 3-4 boxes of LED bulbs I brought with me to the Vineyard. My father was a hoarder of antique furniture. He built barns to hold it all:
In spite of the thousands of records and CDs I own, not to mention the nightclub's worth of lighting gear (and all the stereo equipment) I own, I have always rejected the notion that I am a hoarder. Except for lightbulbs. I have to cop to it. I compulsively bought CFL bulbs when those were a thing, and then moved on to LED bulbs when they arrived. I have done some pretty neat things with them. I restored a bunch of antique lamps:
(For colored bulbs, CFLs are better than LED. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.)
Even with the lamps above and many more, I have a vast excess of LED bulbs. Today, with Gary's permission I went through his house and wrote down all of the bulbs I thought he could use. Then I went up to my attic where it was 115 goddamn degrees and dragged down a few boxes. I then spent an hour replacing the bulbs in most of Gary's house. I did most of the living area, and discussed with him a few spots I could not get to (the garage and basement.) He seemed pleased. Also I have (slightly) fewer bulbs kicking around now.
I know you like to pretend otherwise, Knucks, but you are a saint.
