  1. Apropos of nothing in the above discussion, Luis tries croissants in Paris while the city riots.  I have to imagine the smell of burning garbage tainted the enjoyment of that particular croissant.

I have big issues with both parties.

You had me at your first sentence.  I have big issues with the two-party system when both of them are as extreme and broken as they are.  I mean, how bad is it when we STILL have to worry about Trump getting into the white house?

  2. Take your time and baby your throat.  It's now all irritated and doesn't trust food, air, liquid, etc.  Make sure to take slow inhales and fast but not damaging exhales, and let your mucus do it's work (bringing up the last bits out of your lungs).

I wish you feel completely better with no side effects soon.

  3. I recently found out that they are considered portents of war in ancient times:

    Quote

To make a sacrifice to God Huitzilopochtli, Aztec high priests donned cloaks made of hummingbird skins. It’s estimated that each adult cloak requires the skin of 8,000 hummingbirds. While the priests wore these shimmering, iridescent outfits, they would cut out the still-beating heart from a slave or captive and present it to Huitzilopochtli. They believed this sacrifice would ensure them a victory on the battlefield.

The Dreamer - Joseph, Pt. 1
    Neal Morse
    2023

    https://album.link/i/1687520898

    Example:

New Prog album released yesterday from Neal (formerly of Spocks Beard fame). I have not given it a deep listen though. And from the onset I am a little mixed. There is some grand music going on here. He has gone back to religious themes. This one, as you might tell is of the technicolor dreamcoat style. The music is good enough that I want to dig a little deeper. It could raise itself to the levels of jesus crist superstar, which I like, or it could end up with gebnbneric songs of praise, that seem to land flat for me. Neal had some other albums like that that I didn't connect with. We shall see, but I do really like the music, had me in a heavy groove several times.

Exactly my reaction to some of his previous work -- a bit too religious, to the point impossible to ignore (Jesus Christ the Exorcist, etc.), but the music's so great, I listen to it anyway.

There's an inn in town called Relax Inn that I jokingly refer to as one of four Miles-Davis themed hotel/motel chain.  (There's also the Twi-Lite Inn which I jokingly say inspired a book series about vampires, but that's irrelevant...WEEEELL, they bothj are.)

    Disassembled some hard drives.

    PXL_20230802_225459528.jpg

Joanne's work had some old hard drives that they wanted to get rid of / render inoperable.

With the right tool (torx screwdriver bit) it was relatively trivial to open them up and take them apart.

All I need to do now is put the drive platters beyond use.

However lacking a drill press, or a large calibre firearm and high speed camera, I'm open to suggestions.

    Thoughts?

    Neighbor(s) with a drill press/large calibre firearm and/or high-speed camera.

    See also:  fire/napalm.

See also:  degauss (those are magnetic heads, aren't they?)

See also:  put them in zip drive cartridges and watch them commit click-of-death suicide.  🙃

Which is gutsy, given Neal Schon is a local resident, and his son, Miles, part of the local music scene, is also supposed to be a "player" according to local unnamed sources.

Miles is sporting a PRS in the first pic.  I'm jealous.  I used to lust after a Neal Schon sig, it's a freaking beast of a guitar.
