  1. Not serious, but true. Oh! Well I wasn't alive back then, so that's my excuse (for not knowing that). I did say "AFAIK", so that's just not very far, innit. 🙃 Me now: not sure who this is, but I dig it: https://tidal.com/artist/57622719/u
  2. Um...Not sure if you're serious, so will play the straight man: The Birth of the Cool is the first of many of Miles Davis' seminal albums. AFAIK, it's always been called that.

  4. Music on TIDALCerrone - 3 - SupernatureListen to 3 - Supernature on TIDALI was looking at other artists who did the continuous groove thing (initially inspired by a listening of Jean Michel Jarre's Equinoxe Pts. 5-7, but also: New Order's The Village/5 8 6, MacArthur Park, Philip Oakey/Giorgio Moroder side 1, &c.), and Google AI turned me on to this disco suite. Suites. Sweets. Whatever. Kinda how I felt when Steve Hackett released his first classical guitar recording, Bay of Kings. But I eventually came to love it, just like everything else in his discography.
  5. I'm enjoying this channel -- lots of cool unique versions. https://youtube.com/@caffinated80s-tt2oc That version of Moving in Stereo at the top is (fire)
  6. Finally finished UFO, started on Space: 1999. Ohmigosh, no wonder my mom wouldn't let me watch this when I was a kid, it was frequently horrific.
  7. Apparat, A Hum of Maybe (2026 release) Wow, this sounds nothing like Orchestra of Bubbles (2006 collaboration with Ellen Allien) or his early IDM work or that subset of his work with Moderat with which I'm familiar...I got autoplayed one track, which reminds me of Goldfrapp's atmospheric art pop, except without her, combined with the more Console-y Notwist of Neon Golden.
  8. https://halou.bandcamp.com/album/wholeness-separation-w-sxx-2026-remastered-edition Halou, Wholeness and Separation (W&SXX 2026 remastered edition) Yes, I'm still smitten by their music, even if it is a remaster.
  9. You know, it's fun that we live in a world where we can play these mental tiering games without consequences, but at the same time, I'm glad we live in a world where they all exist.
  10. I know I've posted this before, but I was just forced to revisit it, and it's just as much an earworm as it ever was
  11. Listened to a couple tracks -- this is great! Thanks for turning me on to them. Music on TIDALDakhaBrakhaSee the releases of DakhaBrakha on TIDALMusic on TIDALДахаБрахаSee the releases of ДахаБраха on TIDAL
  12. Well that's too bad. For reference, my hearing damage is bad enough that I can't tell the difference than when it's just my hearing. At least shoegaze still sounds like shoegaze.
  13. I am fond of the new Shearwater album. Even has a Laurie Anderson cameo. This is not that: This is:
  14. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  15. That stank face
  16. Talking with Google AI about what's so magical (mostly Nelson Riddle) about Sinatra's and Jarret's versions of "It's a Lonesome Old Town" and I've assigned myself some listening, so I'm listening: Sinatra, Sings for Only the Lonely and Where Are You? Nat King Cole, The Very Thought of You and Night Lights Keith Jarrett, of course, and John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman
  17. Yeezh.
