Always leave a small margin of tolerance when manually measuring. For example if a hole measures 40mm x 20mm, I’d CAD it at ~40.3mm x 20.3mm. If you can find data sheets for component panel measurements, then I CAD them exactly to these measurements, and manually measure the actual component for a double check, don’t blindly go straight from the data sheets without checking. Make a dummy cardboard panel, cut the holes out with a scalpel and mount your components on this for a triple check, screws and all.

Kevin, what value did you have in mind when you said “You can bump up the 3rd stage a bit”? ... in my case I have Modushop 3U 400mm sinking with the output current stage targeted for 10mA with A1968’s parts. If you have a formula for the 3 stage source resistors that would be helpful.

No discredit towards Lil Knight, but this BOM thanks to ujamerstand is my preference.

From my understanding a fried LT1021 was replaced, the positive rail then functioned correctly, the defective LT1021 did not damage any other parts. The negative rail shorted from an arc between the metal case of a cap and trace. I’m sure this is the second time I’ve seen the LT1021 give a builder good headache. Congrats on psu jwzhan!

Victor, I’m undecided, I will most likely modify the existing amp.

Richard has worked out a spec for a new build I'm toying with. Based on running ~10mA for the fourth stage the secondaries have been increased to handle 250mA @ continuous. The core is essentially the same size as the 100VA model with increased gauge for extra current handling, plus added insulation to help with surge.

Yes that’s completely wrong, slaps head, it’s 130VA for the two 450V windings, apologies.

I’ve had the top plate of contemplating... to be frank I’m kinda worried about pulling the whole thing apart and risk fucking up a good functioning amp. I was planning around 10mA as well, my PSU is ~450V with a SumR 500VA transformer, amps are running A1968’s. One thing would make the job a lot easier is paralleling over 180 ohm resistors, would this be a problem Kevin or Spritzer?
