Luck (TV series)
I watched the first episode yesterday. I really enjoyed it. Production has stopped due to the death of three horses during filming. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hbo-cancels-luck-horse-death-peta-dustin-hoffman-300201

Got great service from Viljo for custom knobs: http://www.viljomarrandi.com/ Got to be patient, I had a 4 month wait, the result was well worth it: These were blued to get that blackish colour.

I just started my SLR journey with a Canon 5D Mark II, got the body for $1300 5 months old. I need a good all rounder lens, I really like the look of the Sigma 50m 1.4...

Awesome work eggil, glad you got it sorted it out, well done! Thanks Justin for your comments about the grounding diagram. I revised my XLR wiring, connecting pin 1 directly to the grounding lug on XLR itself and not the star ground, as per good old rane notes. Not finished but the general shape - they’ll be blued later this week, here are Viljo’s knobs for some KGSSHV’s.

Thanks for the music Doc. RIP.- i'm on a roll... the kgsshv
Arghh yeah ok. The only other thing could be where Arek has joined the wires together, I asked for 400mm length wires, thinking that it would be one piece of wire directly from inside the attenuator, instead he just extended it by soldering and heat shrinking a new piece of wire. So maybe the join is cold?- i'm on a roll... the kgsshv
Sounds to me like left and right channels are mixed. I’d check the resistances over the amp board +/- inputs and +/-XLR inputs. If the resistance changes when adjusting the attenuator that’s confirmation for that channel. Just check it’s wired correctly.- Stax Teflon Jacks - More of them

I promised a few people some impressions of my new stat rig, a KGSSHV and O2 MK1, I recently sold my dynamic system (balanced β22 and LCD-2R2) to support my new venture. For a month or so I was left without any system whilst I was building my KGSSHV, my impressions are based on auditory memory of my dynamic rig, my source remains the same, a Buffalo32 DAC. So here goes… The treble on the stat system extends way further without every being harsh, when called on it’s as delicate and airy as anything I’ve heard. I can hear way into the recording venue, instruments are better defined with clearer attack. The LCD-2 in no way can keep up with the O2 in this regard, it just doesn’t have the top end detail the O2 possesses. The mids of the O2 are just excellent, again better detail than the LCD-2, although the LCD-2 does add some weight and meat behind instruments and voices - overall the sheer brilliance of the O2 gets my vote. Bass with the O2 is absolutely amazing, it hits hard with great weight and detail, to my surprise actually, as I thought the LCD-2 would be the clear winner with bass - if only for the most bass dependant genres the O2 is simply remarkable. They’re actually turntable isolation feet. I applied a liberal amount thread lock to the mounting bolts to disable the levelling ability that is intended for turntable use. http://www.diyhifisupply.com/node/406- i'm on a roll... the kgsshv

Cam-Expert did the all the panel work (front, top, base and rear), I’m really happy with the outcome they did a great job, much cheaper than FPE btw. The match is excellent for colour, although the grain or brush I asked for could been a tad heavier for perfection. If anyones interested I have FPE files of the below; What I’m after now is some decent 3.5mm self tappers for the top panel, does anyone know a decent source? I’ve been on the hunt for a while now... - RIP Doc Watson
