Here's something you don't see every day.....

A family in my neck of the woods found this rare event of nature. I'll have to admit that, while I'd heard of this, I've never seen it before. Truly something. Note the size in comparison to the shoe in the background.

What the heck?? I was lied to. An email passed on from my....gulp...pastor indicated those pics were from a family in our area. Good grief is honesty a thing of the past??? >:(

*drumroll*

Is it possible that by "in our area" he meant either (a) Conroe TX, or (B) earth? Because just because it is on snopes doesn't mean it's a lie. It could have been photoshopped, but then again, it could be real, too. It says, "status: undetermined". Also, the Conroe TX could have been yet another inaccuracy, and it is in your neighborhood. I think you should find out from the pastor what family and go give them a visit and take some pictures if it's real.

he undoubtedly got it in an email from somebody who got it in an email from somebody who got it in an email, ad infinitum.

Yep. He just passed it along like I did. Should have learned by now that you can never take anything at face value. I let the doofus in me come out again. Bad on me.
