October 20, 201312 yr Agreed, Ric. While the Herus probably is great, he probably hasn't heard much. FWIW, I pre-ordered the Light Harmonic Geek with upgraded output for $250 (didn't make the Kickstarter project). It's got a 3D Awesomifier.....must be good (Probably some kind of cross-feed implementation). I just ordered the same one in silver
October 20, 201312 yr Author Anyone with more technical knowledge than I have any thoughts on the Herus v. Geek from published specs? Like the pedigree and 1/4" jack on the Herus, but more seem to be going the other way.
October 21, 201312 yr He probably hasn't heard many DSD DACs (and gets a few names wrong), but... "Best Sound (highest value) – The best budget sound at the show was... The guy's name is Steven Stone. Didn't he once pitch for the Cubs? Don't trust him. He's a loser!!! (Ok, so he won a Cy Young when he was with the Orioles... but still, he's got the Cubs taint which can never be erased. Case in point: Bill Buckner. Need I say more? Buy this DAC and one day you'll be boarding a flight and you'll drop it just as you're stepping onto the plane. It will fall right between your legs and down into the tarmac.)
