December 27, 201312 yr For those interested in another solid state circuit; http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/pass-labs/248112-pass-stat-headphone-amplifier-concept.html#post3753546
December 27, 201312 yr Yup. I disagree that the KGSS is over complicated. It is a very elegant circuit. Simple circuits have their place though, but not in a 'stat amp, from what I have seen.
December 27, 201312 yr Oh and lol that KG's schematic of Cavalli's amp is in the references section..
December 27, 201312 yr that one line at diyaudio will cause tens of thousands of hits worldwide that will circulate forever. sweet. once someone actually builds it, they are probably going to find it does not perform as they might expect. dc levels before the output caps are going to drift like crazy. The 5M and 10M resistors may simulate well, but the real things are loaded with capacitance and inductance, and in practice not going to work as planned. December 27, 201312 yr on the mosfets... So the trick is to take a device which is wholly unsuitable for the job and use it in a circuit which looks like something Stax did in 1972. I appreciate the effort but no way this thing works well when somebody actually builds it. Ohh and can somebody send me a text pdf that isn't corrupted...
January 7, 201412 yr Thanks for that I got five copies almost immediately. It's fun to read the DIYA thread though as some familiar faces try to edge the project in the right direction but no go...
