Traveling to Portland, OR! Places to visit

Featured Replies

School year ends this Friday, and my wife and I are out of here and headed to Portland OR for a week! (kids will be with grandparents, yes!).

Will gladly take any recs for places to visit.  My wife and I are pretty normal and basically we want to drink, eat, listen to music, and do the nature thing.

Voodoo Doughnuts, Hair of the Dog Brewery (barrel aged stuff in particular), Cascade brewery (if you like sours or fruity stuff).

lol I've got all these random things my wife and I have been jotting down to do and lo and behold we didn't even start looking at breweries lol. Thanks bud.

Multnomah Falls is a must see (stop by McMenamins Edgefield on the way).

Portland has a lot of cool districts to walk around and shop/eat:

23rd st, Hawthorne, Belmont, Mississippi, Hollywood, Alberta come to mind.

Powell's City of Books, of course.

Chuck Palahniuk wrote Fugitives and Refugees: A Walk in Portland that includes a guide to weird places:

Happy trails!
