Open the 24 bit recording in a sound editor, aligning the file so that the loudest point in the performance is at 0dB. Then convert it to 16bit with dither. See if you can tell the difference Report

There seems to be a difference in clarity on the cymbals and guitar when I play them back .... you think it's just a volume difference? USG Report

He then pointed me here: http://www.ryanadamsarchive.com/torrents.php apparently Ryan Adams lets random fan tapers put mics on the stage and record through his soundboard because he is a BADASS. there are more soundboards on there then I know what to do with, but I'm grabbing as many as I can.
