Yes, normal people can be infected, too. But it's much more easily spread by anal sex, as the article states. And homosexual men have lots of anal sex.

deepak Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 i read a study, a while ago, that suggested that bacterial infections in hospitals could be reduced by something like 75% if medical practitioners used gel alcohol to clean their hands several times a day. Ideally people should use the alcohol hand gel or wash their hands (and do it properly) after seeing every patient.
